Knowsley Safari
Wildlife park in Prescot, Merseyside, with a five-mile drive, walking trail, and educational activities.
About Knowsley Safari
Just outside Liverpool, Knowsley Safari offers two distinct ways to explore. The five-mile Safari Drive crosses areas where animals may approach visitors’ vehicles; the park describes it as the UK’s longest safari drive. On foot, the Foot Safari adds animal habitats, displays, and activities for a closer look at wildlife. The organization says the park is home to more than 750 animals.
A visit works best when planned around both experiences: the drive and the walk-through area, with talks, presentations, and rides. The official app includes an interactive map, audio, and tools for building an itinerary. The Safari Drive has strict safety rules: guests must stay inside their vehicle, follow posted directions, and never feed the animals; some vehicle types are restricted.
The park is in Prescot, near the A58 and just off the M57, and can be reached by car, public transportation, or on foot from Prescot town center. Operating days and hours vary by season and school holidays, and the last entry to the drive is earlier than the park’s closing time. Check the official schedule and book tickets before setting out so you don’t arrive too late for the Safari Drive.
