Right Moving: domestic and international removals from Poole

Right Moving is a moving company headquartered in Poole (UK) that provides domestic and international moving, packing and storage services. The company operates under the legal name JD MOVE AND DISTRIBUTION LTD, with company number 12418265 and VAT GB 382437091, according to the legal details on its website.

Moving and logistics services

The main service consists of transporting household goods from the origin home to the destination, ensuring they arrive safely and on time. This transport of the home contents is included in the basic price. The company also offers complementary services:

• Disassembly and reassembly: the team disassembles furniture to prepare it for packing and, at the destination, unpacks and reassembles it in the corresponding room. This may involve an additional charge.
• Packing: Right Moving packs the items requested by the client and can provide packing materials.
• Cleaning: comprehensive cleaning service for the origin home, including vacuuming rooms, dusting and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, to leave it ready for the new tenants or owners.
• Storage: spacious and secure facilities to store belongings for the short or long term, for example if the handover of the keys to the new home is delayed.
• Special items and pianos: the team has specific equipment and methods to protect fragile items during the move.

Vehicle fleet

The company details the different types of vehicles it uses depending on the volume and weight of the move:

• 13.6 m lorry: capacity of 100 m³ and payload of 24 t.
• 7.5 t truck solo: capacity of 45 m³ and payload of 3,000 kg.
• Maxi mover: capacity of 28 m³ and payload of 1,350 kg.
• Luton van: capacity of 25 m³ and payload of 1,200 kg.
• Panel van: capacity of 12 m³ and payload of 1,300 kg.

Factors that determine the cost

The website indicates that the price of a move varies depending on the volume of belongings, the distance between origin and destination, the ease of access to both properties, the time and season of the move, additional services contracted such as packing, and the need to handle large or fragile items that require special equipment or methods. The company invites you to complete a form to request a no-obligation quote.

Outsourced storage

In addition to storage for individuals, Right Moving presents storage as an outsourced service for businesses: the client pays only for the space they occupy and their stock is managed by the company, without the need to manage buildings or travel to self-storage units. The company notes that it manages the warehouse as if it were its own on behalf of the client.

European network and locations

Right Moving operates from its head office in Poole and has branches in London (Feltham, next to Heathrow Airport), Malta and Ireland. The company also mentions storage locations in Poole, London-Feltham, Manchester, Belfast (Northern Ireland), Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Copenhagen. For European coverage, it relies on a network of local partners in Italy, Germany, Spain and France.

Moving preparation guide

The website includes a checklist organised by timeframes, covering from two months before the move to the days after arrival. Among the tasks listed are requesting parking permits, notifying the landlord in the case of a rental, arranging childcare or pet care, cancelling services such as television, telephone and internet, redirecting mail, defrosting the fridge, preparing an essentials box for the first few days, and taking readings of the electricity and water meters at both the origin and destination homes.
