RHS Plants

RHS Plants, online plant and gardening shop

RHS Plants is an online shop for plants and gardening items associated with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Its catalogue brings together outdoor and indoor plants, bulbs, seeds, fruit trees, pots, tools, garden furniture and gifts. The company states that its plants are grown for it in specialist UK nurseries and that every purchase helps fund the RHS's charitable work, such as free school visits and climate change research.

Outdoor and indoor plants

The outdoor range includes perennials, shrubs — including mature and large specimens —, climbers, roses, grasses, trees, fruit trees and bushes, ferns and hedging. The catalogue can be filtered by growing conditions such as full sun, full shade, drought tolerance or coastal exposure, and by flowering season and colour, with specific sections for September and October flowering and for autumn colour. Indoors, it sells orchids, foliage, flowering and scented plants, air plants, pots and care items, organised by room and light level.

Spring-flowering bulbs and seeds

Spring-flowering bulbs are one of the shop's mainstays, with tulips, daffodils, alliums, crocuses, irises, snowdrops, hyacinths, anemones and fritillaries, as well as bulb collections and a selection by colour. The website advertised 20% off all bulbs and seeds, and 30% off selected roses. It also offers seeds for flowers, vegetables, wildflowers and herbs, and a section on growing fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Pots, tools and garden equipment

The pots section distinguishes between outdoor and indoor and allows choosing by material — terracotta, metal, glazed, composite, wood and rattan — and by size, from less than 30 cm in diameter to more than 70 cm. It includes window boxes, raised beds, wall planters, hanging baskets, designer pots and plant and pot combinations. Tools and equipment include pruning, digging and weeding tools, bulb planting, plant protection, fertilisers, compost — with specific and general-purpose options —, irrigation systems, plant supports and structures, edging and fencing, lawn care and grow frames.

Outdoor living, wildlife and gifts

The shop extends its range to outdoor furniture, fire pits, barbecues and pizza ovens, water features, parasols, hammocks, loungers and garden lighting. It has a wildlife section with bird feeders and bird baths, bird houses and insect houses. For gifts, it offers ideas for gardening enthusiasts, orchids, items for nature lovers, hampers and presents by recipient and by price range, as well as physical and electronic gift cards.

Commitment to peat-free gardening

The company states that all the plants it sells are 'No New Peat', meaning no new peat, and presents this policy as part of more sustainable gardening. It also sells a selection of RHS-recommended plants and another designed to attract pollinators, birds and butterflies. The website includes information on deliveries, returns and a five-year plant guarantee.
