Plants By Post

Plants By Post, indoor and outdoor plants delivered to your door in the UK

Plants By Post is an online store that sells indoor and outdoor plants and presents them as a gift option for different occasions. Its catalogue combines indoor specimens, outdoor trees and shrubs, aromatic plants and pre-planted containers, and the company states that each plant is selected and packed to arrive in good condition.

The offering is built on three logistical and presentation services: free standard delivery across the UK, free standard gift wrapping when selected on the product page (excluding seasonal bedding plants) and free video messaging. The company claims to have served over 25,000 customers and to handle over 2,000 shipments per month, and displays an average rating of 4.8 stars.

Plant gifts organised by occasion

The catalogue is largely structured around the reason for the gift. Collections include plants for anniversaries, birthdays, congratulations, get well, thank you, new baby, new home, retirement and sympathy or thinking of you, as well as a general gift category without a specific occasion. It also offers gift cards and monthly indoor plant subscriptions, with a fee of £25 per month for the monthly subscription shown.

Types of plant available

The range is divided between indoor and outdoor plants. Indoor plants include easy-care plants, foliage plants, flowering plants, succulents and cacti, pet-friendly plants and citrus trees that can be grown indoors or outdoors. Outdoor plants include bay trees, olive trees, citrus trees, rose bushes, shrubs, small trees, climbers, ferns and grasses, aromatic plants, perennials, annuals, cyclamens and pre-planted containers.

Featured products in the catalogue include a 5-litre spiral olive tree, 100-110 cm tall, 90-100 cm olive trees, a mini olive tree and a mini olive bush in a 15 cm pot, a 3-litre olive bush, a 90 cm standard bay tree, a Dracaena Marginata, a Sansevieria Superba and a Ficus Belize with variegated leaves. Rose bushes are offered as floral gifts with varieties linked to silver and golden wedding anniversaries.

Delivery, packaging and guarantee

The company offers free standard delivery on all plant orders to the UK and provides an annual membership plan aimed at saving on deliveries. Standard gift wrapping is free if selected on the product page, except for seasonal plants. The company maintains a 30-day plant health guarantee: if the customer is not satisfied, they can report it within that period and the company undertakes to resolve it.

Customer service and care content

The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:30; outside these hours, chat and WhatsApp services are monitored. If the order has not yet been dispatched, the company allows cancellation and a full refund. The website also includes a care and advice section with guides, including one dedicated to roses as gifts and another on plant gifts by occasion, and accepts payments with Klarna.
