Meadowmakers

Meadowmakers: native wildflowers and meadow creation

Meadowmakers is a family-run nursery based in Sherwood Forest (UK) that presents itself as a specialist in the so-called giant wildflower "super-plug". The company focuses on selling UK-native plants and providing advice services for meadow creation and rewilding.

Plant catalogue and growing approach

The nursery sells exclusively UK-native wildflowers, a choice the company justifies as being the most suitable for native pollinators and wildlife that evolved alongside them. The plants are grown outdoors from UK-certified seed or seed gathered from their network of meadows. The company also highlights a plastic-free and environmentally friendly approach to trading.

Free advice and outreach

Meadowmakers offers free advice on rewilding and meadow creation. For 2026, the company announces the launch of a free YouTube channel, launched in April, where it will publish videos following three local meadows through the seasons. The content shows the process and the science they apply to meadow-making and rewilding for biodiversity, including sowing, planting, maintenance and cutting, with a focus on wildflowers and associated pollinators, particularly butterflies. Subscribing to the channel is free.

Presence at fairs and talks

The company describes itself as specialist plant-fair exhibitors and offers expert talks to groups and societies. These activities complement its main nursery and advice work.

Customer rating

On Trustpilot, the company shows an "Excellent" rating.
