Himalayan Chew

Himalayan Chew, natural chewable dog treats

Himalayan Chew is an online store based in Peterborough (United Kingdom) dedicated to selling natural chewable dog treats. Its catalogue is built around yak chews, a product that, as the company itself explains, originated decades ago among the people of the Himalayas as a protein-rich snack and which it has adapted into a long-lasting chewable dog treat.

Yak chews: the core product

The mainstay of the range is yak chews handmade by Himalayan farmers from local cow's milk. The company highlights that they contain a high protein and calcium content, with little fat and no chemical binding agents. The yak chew catalogue includes a classic version and variants with added flavours: strawberry, blueberry, mango, pumpkin, peanut butter, coconut, turmeric, mint, honey and flaxseed. A combined pack of strawberry, blueberry and mango yak chews is also sold.

The store notes that the final leftover pieces of the chew can be put to use: simply microwave them for about 45 seconds, adjusting the time according to the appliance's power, until they puff up; then leave them to cool and the dog can enjoy them with a crunchy texture and smoky flavour.

Other natural chews

In addition to yak chews, Himalayan Chew offers other natural chewing alternatives for dogs:

• Deer antlers, whole and split.
• Coffee wood chews.
• Coconut fibre balls.
• Bulls pizzle (bull tendon).

Puffed treats and variety boxes

The company also sells puffed and ready-to-puff treats, such as Himalayan Yak Puff Treats and unpuffed Himalayan Yak Bits. It also offers boxes of natural chews and treats that combine different products, including the Natural Dog Chews and Treats Box, the Nature's Dog Chews and Treats Box, the Beef Gullet Chew Box, the Dried Venison Skin Chew Box, the Rabbit Skin Chew, the Beef Lungs Treat Box, the Beef Ears Chew Box and the Beef Trachea Chew Box.
