CATREATS

CATREATS, freeze-dried food for cats

CATREATS is an online store based in Peterborough (United Kingdom) dedicated to selling freeze-dried snacks and food for cats and other felines. Its approach is based on single-ingredient products, presented as 100% natural and high quality, designed to meet the protein needs of a feline diet.

Freeze-dried snack range

The range is organised into four products, all in the form of 112-gram freeze-dried cubes except for the combined pack:

• Chicken Cubes: freeze-dried chicken cubes, described as gentle on the tummy and aimed at weight control and energy metabolism.
• Egg Yolk Cubes: egg yolk cubes, associated with vision, cognitive function, strong bones and coat and skin care.
• Cod Fish Cubes: cod cubes, presented as low in fat and a source of omega-3, with joint support and for heart function.
• Nature's Trio: a 336-gram pack that brings together the three previous varieties.

The store listed prices of £11.99 for the chicken and egg yolk cubes, £12.99 for the cod cubes and £29.99 for the Nature's Trio pack, in all cases with discounts compared to the previous price.

Use and how to serve

The products are presented as a supplement that can be incorporated into the main diet, offered as a treat, as a topping over food or used in training and bonding sessions with the animal. The company highlights that they are appealing even to fussy cats.

Why freeze-dried

According to the store's information, freeze-drying retains around 99% of the original nutritional value, with minimal nutrient loss compared to other preservation methods. The company notes that the high protein content supports muscle, coat condition and overall vitality, and that the freeze-dried format allows cats to benefit from the advantages associated with raw feeding — better digestion, better coat condition and more energy — without the handling and preparation of fresh meat. It adds that the flavour of the real product is highly palatable for cats.

Quality control

CATREATS states that it selects ingredients, preserves natural aromas and nutrients and tests every batch to meet standards of quality, purity and safety. The company presents this requirement as part of its commitment to the health and well-being of companion animals.

Shipping and subscriptions

The store offers free and fast delivery within the United Kingdom, with same-day dispatch and estimated delivery in one or two working days. It has a repeat delivery programme with a 25% discount, in which the customer can adjust the frequency, add products or cancel from their account, and which includes free 48-hour delivery. The site also advertised occasional promotions, such as 20% off when mixing products, 20% off the first purchase by subscribing to the newsletter and 15% off for sharing products.
