PetJet

PetJet: outdoor hot water showers for dogs and horses

PetJet is a British family-run brand dedicated to hot water washing systems for dogs and horses, designed for outdoor use. The company was founded by gundog trainers, an origin that, according to its own presentation, explains the practical approach of its products: washing animals before mud, sand or dirt reaches the inside of homes, vehicles or stables.

Its catalogue is organised around dog showers, horse showers, a foam gun, drying products and parts and accessories. The central proposition is instant hot water: the electric systems take cold mains water and heat it as it flows, with no tank or waiting, according to the information on its own website.

Shower models and washing systems

The brand structures its range into several lines differentiated by power, installation and intended use:

• Shower Mini: the best-selling model, at 3 kW, plugs into a power socket and is designed for homes, gardens and small spaces. Price indicated from £89.
• Shower Pro: the most powerful option, at 7 kW, with hard-wired installation, aimed at stables, washing areas, kennels and dog grooming salons. Price indicated from £149.
• Home Wall Shower: a wall-mounted model with cold and hot water supply, installable under the sink with an outdoor outlet, designed for homes, hotels, kennels and dog day care centres. Price indicated from £99.
• Portable Washer: a portable washer with pump and sprayer, for walks, outings, shows and any place without a water supply or power socket. Price indicated from £29.

The company notes that the Pro, Gas and Portable systems are especially popular in stables and horse work areas. All models are designed to be used with both dogs and horses.

Drying and finishing accessories

Alongside the showers, PetJet sells a line of products to complete the wash:

• Dog drying towel with adjustable fit, at £20.
• Drying towel for horses and dogs, at £10.
• Waterproof car seat and boot cover, at £20.
• PetJet plug-in portable hair dryer, at £89.
• PetJet drying pack, at £129.

The catalogue shows these items with availability subject to stock, as some appear as sold out at the time of analysis.

Installation, warranty and purchase conditions

The company does not carry out installations itself. Each system is supplied with wall brackets, hose connectors and a step-by-step manual, and the firm states that installation is straightforward, although it may require an electrician, a handyman or a plumber for the Pro or wall-mounted models. Kit orders include up to five free gifts, a shower head, two hosepipes and free delivery. The brand offers free UK delivery on kit orders, a one-year warranty and a 30-day free home trial with hassle-free returns. Support is provided by email with ongoing advice.

Audience and presence

PetJet targets dog and horse owners, but also dog groomers, walkers, dog day care centres, hotels, kennels and stables. The website mentions specific programmes for groomers (Groomers Club), healthcare workers, first responders and animal rescue organisations, as well as a stockist network and an ambassador programme. The firm states it has more than 50,000 customers and shows user testimonials in Hampshire, Gloucester, Belfast and York.
