About Pinhole Quilting
Pinhole Quilting, distributor of Handi Quilter quilting machines in the UK and Europe
Pinhole Quilting presents itself as the exclusive distributor for the UK and Europe of Handi Quilter longarm quilting machines. The company sells, supports, services and trains quilters in the use of this equipment, and describes itself as a centre of excellence for longarm machine quilting.
The firm states that it is the only specialist longarm machine company in the UK and maintains that Handi Quilter is the world's most successful supplier in the sector, with more units sold in the UK than all other brands combined. These assessments come from the company's own presentation.
Machine and system catalogue
The range of Handi Quilter machines it distributes includes seven longarm models, among them those in the Moxie and Amara series, as well as the Infinity 28 model. The company also sells computerised machine bundles and the Pro-Stitcher computerised quilting system, available in full and Lite versions.
Pro-Stitcher is offered as integrated software with all stand-up longarm machines, CE certified and stocked in the UK, which saves the buyer from having to order it from the USA as happens with other brands. The catalogue is completed with pre-owned machines and the FreeWay Frame, a foldable, portable system that allows free-motion quilting without tools and can be assembled in minutes, designed both for beginners and for limited spaces.
Customer profile
Pinhole Quilting has installed Handi Quilter machines for hobby quilters who want to finish their own quilts with ease, for professional quilters who finish pieced tops for patchworkers and for quilt artists. Among the users cited are Moxie Mentor Jo Avery and Handi Quilter Ambassadors Lynda Jackson, Hilde van Schaardenburg and Stuart Hillard, a quilt author who uses Pro-Stitcher. It also supplies quilt shops that rent out machine time to their customers.
Training, demonstrations and events
The company's activities include training and education in machine quilting. It organises workshops, machine quilting demonstrations and educational talks, and takes part in fairs and shows across the UK. Its training offer includes one-to-one sessions and virtual learning, and it publishes a newsletter to announce its events.
Technical service and maintenance
The company provides a longarm machine servicing service and allows you to book a service appointment. For technical enquiries it has a dedicated email address and asks you to indicate whether your request is urgent.
