Dobies

Dobies has been supplying seeds and plants since 1894. Its catalog combines vegetables, flowers, and trees with tools and materials for growing them. The offering makes it possible to start from seed or buy established plants, with sections organized by species, sowing season, and type of space.

Vegetable seeds include tomatoes, beans, peas, carrots, brassicas, lettuce, squash, and herbs among many other families. Collections feature heritage varieties, F1 hybrids, organic seeds, and options selected for resistance to particular diseases. Monthly calendars help place those families within the growing year.

Vegetable plants include artichokes, asparagus, cucumbers, tomatoes, and other crops, with sections for grafted plants and mushroom kits. Seed potatoes are distinguished by growing cycle, from first earlies to maincrop varieties. Garlic, onions, and shallots are also organized by planting season for planning different stages of the year.

Fruit expands the vegetable garden with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, currants, and grapevines alongside apple, pear, plum, cherry, and other fruit trees. The selection includes bare-root plants, patio options, and smaller varieties. Shrubs, hedges, and ornamental trees add structure beyond the edible growing area.

Flowers include seeds, plants, bulbs, and tubers, with collections for pots, hanging baskets, shade, and pollinators. Houseplants have their own categories, from cacti and succulents to ferns and orchids. Propagation supplies, fertilizers, tools, containers, and greenhouses accompany the different stages of care.

A printed catalog and ordering by product reference complement the online store. Dobies maintains sowing and growing guides, advice on potatoes, and a vegetable garden planner alongside a gardening club. The brand belongs to Branded Garden Products and retains a postal address in Paignton. Its breadth allows a project to be organized by plants, calendar, and equipment, with growing information alongside product families.
