City Sightseeing Oxford
Sightseeing bus with eighteen stops, 24- or 48-hour tickets, audio in fourteen languages, and options for guided walks and Carfax Tower admission.
About City Sightseeing Oxford
City Sightseeing Oxford offers a way to explore the university city from an open-top double-decker sightseeing bus. The circuit connects eighteen stops near places of interest and takes approximately an hour without getting off. Hop-on, hop-off access allows that overview to become a day with independent visits and walks.
Tickets are offered for twenty-four or forty-eight hours, with unlimited access during their validity. On board, audio commentary is available in fourteen languages, with free headphones. Mia Cloo provides a narration specifically for children. That combination distinguishes a panoramic tour from everyday transport: the explanations are part of getting to know Oxford.
The offering goes beyond the bus. Oxford Uncovered is a guided walk of about sixty minutes, while other walking tours develop specific themes: Town & Gown, pubs and taverns, Black Oxford Untold Stories, and ghost stories. Private walks are also available, allowing a visit to be organized around a group’s interests.
Carfax Tower introduces another perspective on the center: the company offers a format combining the bus tour with admission to the tower. Packages are distinguished by their features, allowing visitors to concentrate on the circuit or add another visit. Walking tours and the tower extend the experience beyond viewing the city from the vehicle’s upper deck.
Information and tickets are available at different points around Oxford. The Visitor Information Point is at 44–45 High Street; the train station, Gloucester Green Travel Shop, Carfax Tower, and Queen Street are also listed among sales locations. Tickets can be purchased online or from the driver. This range of outlets allows the tour to fit into visits starting in different parts of the city.
The service also offers private bus hire for groups, schools, businesses, weddings, and other celebrations. That activity is arranged separately from the regular sightseeing circuit. Together, City Sightseeing Oxford provides an initial panoramic overview and options to pause and explore the city in more detail, on foot or from one of its viewpoints.
