Arthurs Motor Group is a family-owned car dealership group operating in Newtown (Powys), Oswestry (Shropshire) and Wrexham (North Wales). The company, whose registered name is J P Arthur & Sons Limited, is registered in England and Wales with company number 352956 and is headquartered at 9 Lower Brook Street, Oswestry, SY11 2HJ. The current owners acquired the business in 1979 and have since maintained continuous activity in the vehicle distribution and servicing sector.

History and evolution of the group

The group's history includes significant milestones in brand representation. The Oswestry site has represented Vauxhall since 1940. In 2006 the company acquired the Newtown Vauxhall dealership. In 2014 it expanded its presence to Wrexham with a Peugeot dealership. Subsequently, in 2020 it launched a Ford car and light commercial vehicle service centre in Newtown, and in 2023 and 2024 it added Peugeot Approved Service Centres in Newtown and Oswestry, respectively. In 2025 it launched a local fleet and business centre, offering new and used vans and solutions for commercial customers. In November 2025 ownership of the group passed from Nigel Williams to Steve Drew.
