Tiger Safety (AAP Wholesale Ltd.)

Tiger Safety, PPE and safety footwear distribution

Tiger Safety is the trading name of AAP Wholesale Ltd., a company based in Oswaldtwistle (Lancashire) that presents itself as one of the leading suppliers of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety footwear and workwear in the north of England. The company operates an online store with worldwide shipping and a catalogue in several currencies (pound, euro, dollar, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar and Mexican peso).

From wholesale to the international market

As the company itself recounts, AAP Wholesale was founded in 2013 by Philip Barrett and Andrew Carr as a wholesaler of clearance and surplus goods. After acquiring a large batch of safety footwear and protective equipment, they detected an online market for these products and created the Tiger Safety brand. Expansion continued with sales on eBay and Amazon and, later, on other international platforms, with operations in Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia. The company states it has an annual turnover of £2 million and is an international distributor for brands such as Delta Plus, Rock Fall, Dr Martens, JCB Workwear, Caterpillar and Grafters, among others. It also mentions repeat purchases from multinationals such as iNTU, Coca-Cola and Network Rail. It describes itself as a family business.
