Orange Pippin, specialist in UK-grown fruit and ornamental trees

Orange Pippin is a British nursery dedicated to the mail-order sale of fruit and ornamental trees. The company presents itself as a specialist in this segment and states that its catalogue exceeds 400 varieties, all grown in England. In addition to sales, it offers personalised advice by phone or email to help choose the most suitable trees according to each customer's needs.

Catalogue and selection tools

The Orange Pippin website serves as a catalogue and resource for buying fruit trees. It includes a guided search that allows filtering by rootstocks, tree forms, pollination groups, picking season and other criteria. It also offers recommendation lists, a variety comparator, a pollination checker and a picking calendar. The catalogue is organised by fruit categories and collections, and includes the option to purchase tree packs for those who want to start a small orchard.

Sales formats and availability

Trees are offered on different rootstocks, which determine the mature size of the specimen. In many cases the customer can choose between bare-root or container-grown trees. The company states that it works with nurseries with which it maintains a close relationship and that it applies quality control procedures to ensure that the trees are healthy and correctly labelled. The site shows updated stock availability.

Shipping and certifications

Orange Pippin accepts orders for delivery to western Europe. According to the website information, the trees have the necessary EU plant passport for these shipments. The company also holds Plant Healthy certification.

Advice and growing resources

The help and advice section of the site brings together resources on choosing fruit trees, planting and growing, growers' guides, pests and diseases, fruit tree gardening and rootstock advice. It also includes customer FAQs and guidance on local climate. The company presents itself as a team of fruit tree enthusiasts and notes that most of the varieties it offers are from its own experience.
