About Deep Yoga
A studio and a school in the same place
Deep Yoga was founded by Dr Gurdeep Singh Athwal in early 2018. It operates from The Old Knows Factory in Nottingham, combining ordinary classes with a yoga school and teacher-training activity. Someone joining a weekly practice and someone preparing to teach are using different parts of the organization, even though they share its approach and facilities.
Equipment is part of the teaching
The studio describes a substantial range of yoga equipment and props, including products from Liforme, Manduka, Alo, Lululemon and Warrior Addict. The point of that equipment is to support different bodies and experience levels rather than requiring every beginner to arrive with a complete collection of specialist items.
Deep Yoga emphasizes a classical foundation while allowing its teaching to evolve. Beginners and experienced practitioners are both addressed in the programme. The useful class choice therefore depends on the style, level and teacher, not simply on taking the first available place. A more demanding session and an introductory practice should not be treated as interchangeable because both appear on the same timetable.
Training and a first visit
The school also offers teacher training, a more sustained commitment than attending occasional classes. Course structure, attendance and the intended qualification deserve their own discussion. General studio marketing is not a substitute for the details of the particular training programme.
The address is Unit 2A, The Old Knows Factory, St Ann's Hill Road, Nottingham NG3 4GN. Contact +44 7973 419859 or general@deepyoga.co.uk. Class times vary with the timetable rather than a single all-day walk-in schedule. A newcomer can identify their experience and any relevant limitations when arranging a suitable session. Yoga teaching here is presented as guided practice and education, without promising a clinical outcome or assuming that every posture suits every person.
