About Airgen Go
Temporary WiFi rental for UK homes
Airgen Go is a rental service for pre-configured 5G and 4G routers designed to cover short periods without a fixed connection: house moves, waiting for fibre installation, line faults or temporary stays. The company is part of Airgen IT Limited, a UK company with number 13937976 based in Nottingham, and operates only in the UK.
The approach replaces traditional broadband contracts with a fixed-term rental: the customer chooses a duration, receives the equipment by tracked courier and returns it free of charge at the end. There is no installer, phone line, long-term contract or credit check.
Plans, prices and rental duration
The catalogue on the analysed site organises the offer into weekly and monthly tiers, all with unlimited data, WiFi 6 router, tracked delivery and prepaid return included:
- One week: £44.
- Two weeks: £69.
- Four weeks: £110, equivalent to £3.93 per day.
- Three months prepaid: £249, at £2.77 per day.
Extending the rental costs £25 per week. If the customer does not extend before the return date, each additional week or part thereof is charged to the card saved at the time of booking the return. For multi-unit orders, the company states that it can send them to different addresses.
Delivery, setup and return
Orders placed before 3pm on a working day are dispatched the same day and arrive the next day at most UK addresses. Remote postcodes, islands and Northern Ireland may take longer, and orders placed after the cut-off, at weekends or on bank holidays are dispatched on the next working day.
Setup is limited to plugging the router into the power and connecting with the network details on a card included in the box; the company says it takes about 60 seconds to get online. The device supports up to 32 connected devices. Returns are handled by showing the QR code on the card at any Post Office, which prints the label, with no printer needed.
Coverage and mobile network selection
Before each shipment, Airgen Go checks the customer's postcode across UK mobile networks and equips the router with the SIM that has the strongest predicted signal at that address. The device is 5G-compatible and automatically switches to 4G where the new network is unavailable. The company does not apply premium charges or 5G add-ons.
Data is unlimited with no provider-imposed caps or throttling, although the operator's fair use and traffic management policies apply. Speed varies by location, indoor signal and network demand. Using the SIM outside the supplied router is not permitted.
Financial terms and guarantee
No deposit is required. Stripe saves the card at the time of purchase and only charges it for additional rental time, for failure to return after reminders, or for damage beyond normal wear and tear; replacement charges are capped at £199. If the signal is not satisfactory, the customer can return the equipment within 48 hours of delivery and get a full refund once the return scan is recorded.
Intended uses of the service
The company targets its rental at several specific scenarios: newly occupied homes awaiting fibre installation, households with a downed line that need to work from home, construction site offices and welfare cabins, short stays for contractors and relocations, student flats with insufficient connection, and sales stands or events requiring payment terminals and streaming. For larger needs, it offers the possibility of consulting options with multiple units.
In addition to the home router, the catalogue includes a pocket MiFi device with unlimited 4G data from £39, for those who need a portable solution.
