Squealing Pig Guitars: pre-owned luxury guitars in Nottingham

Squealing Pig Guitars is a British shop specialising in hand-picked pre-owned luxury guitars. Its catalogue focuses on rare, Custom Shop and high-end instruments from brands such as Fender, Gibson, PRS, Ibanez, Gretsch, ESP and Ernie Ball Music Man. The company presents itself as a boutique destination for discerning musicians and collectors from around the world.

History: from a family collection to a showroom in Nottingham

The project began in 2009 within a music-loving family, when the father decided to sell his guitar collection accumulated over decades of touring and trading. What started as a farewell turned into a business that grew by reinvesting, buying and trading instruments. After years operating exclusively online, in 2021 it opened its first physical showroom in Staffordshire and in 2024 it moved to Nottingham, a city the company describes as a musical and creative hub. The move allowed it to expand the collection and improve the visiting experience.

Buying pre-owned guitars

The stock consists of pre-owned instruments selected one by one. Among the examples the shop shows in its catalogue are models such as a PRS USA Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Custom 24 in Private Stock Salmon, several SUHR USA Standard and Classic S Custom from 2026, a 2017 Maybach MIG Lester P90 '59 Reissue Aged, a 2019 Ernie Ball USA Music Man James Valentine Signature HH, a 2023 Gibson USA ES-345 Semi Hollow, a Fender USA Custom Shop '62 Reissue Stratocaster JRNY Relic, and signed and aged Gibson Custom Shop editions such as the Eric Clapton 'Beano' '60 Les Paul, the Slash No.1 1987 'Jessica' and the Slash AFD 'Appetite For Destruction'.
