Lowdhams

Lowdhams brings the touring lifestyle together in one large showroom setting. In Gunthorpe, northeast of Nottingham, it brings together vehicles, accessories, and services for people traveling by motorhome, campervan, or caravan. The family-owned business dates its beginnings to 1966 and has built its operation around buying, equipping, and maintaining leisure vehicles, with several departments on one site.

The showroom displays motorhomes, campervans, and caravans, including ranges from manufacturers such as Swift. Alongside it, the accessories and awnings store carries products for preparing a vehicle and campsite, from travel equipment to shade and outdoor-living solutions. That combination lets visitors compare vehicles while also asking about the details that shape everyday use once they are on the road.

The service center handles after-sales work and maintenance, while the sales team supports vehicle and accessory purchases. Hours vary by department: sales, accessories, and awnings are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; bank holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service center has separate hours: Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beanies Café gives visitors a place to pause while they tour the showroom, serving coffee and light food on site. It is open Monday-Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the café asks customers to note that last orders are taken 30 minutes before closing. Dogs are welcome in the café and reception areas, but not inside leisure vehicles or in the awnings department.

For visitors arriving in their own motorhome, Lowdhams offers an overnight option for My Lowdhams members during events. The site has 10 electric hookups and also allows stays without a hookup; visits are limited to two nights, and there is no shower or toilet block. This is best understood as a convenience tied to the dealership and its events rather than a full-service campground.

The dealership is at Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe, Nottingham NG14 7ES. More than a sales floor, the site brings together a showroom, accessories, service, and a café, allowing vehicle shoppers to handle several parts of a visit in one place. The family business’s history since 1966 provides context for an operation that combines sales with practical support for life on the road.
