About Hope2Sleep
Hope2Sleep: charitable support for sleep apnoea and CPAP therapy
Hope2Sleep is a UK registered charity (number 1168089) founded by Kath Hope in 2009. Its work focuses on supporting people with sleep apnoea, CPAP and non-invasive ventilation users, as well as sleep professionals. The organisation combines free assistance with the sale of comfort products to improve therapy adherence.
History and origins
The organisation began as an unofficial non-profit company in 2009, driven by Kath Hope, who is herself a CPAP user. The motivation arose after the loss of her mother at the age of 49, probably due to lack of treatment. In July 2016 it was officially registered as a CIO Charity. Since then, Kath Hope has worked with sleep clinics and was an expert patient at Guy's & St Thomas' clinic from 2012, as well as participating in the advisory panel of the British Lung Foundation's sleep apnoea campaign.
Support services and community
Hope2Sleep runs a private Facebook support group with more than 10,400 members, aimed at people with sleep apnoea, UARS and CPAP or ventilation users. Access is by request and is restricted to patients, carers, family members and clinicians. It also maintains a public awareness page and a mailing list. The organisation offers information, articles and resources on sleep apnoea, CPAP and ventilation, including guides on common problems such as condensation in the mask or DVLA rules for driving with sleep apnoea.
Respiratory therapy products shop
Hope2Sleep's online shop offers a wide range of products for the care and comfort of CPAP and ventilation users. Categories include CPAP masks, CPAP machines, mask comfort solutions, hoses and accessories, cleaning products, filters, humidifiers, batteries, bags and travel accessories. It also sells items such as medical alert cards, wristbands and luggage tags, as well as books and gifts. The shop stocks brands such as ResMed, Philips Respironics, Fisher & Paykel, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, Lowenstein Medical, among others.
