Birth Supplies, specialist in birthing pools and birth products

Birth Supplies is a UK online store dedicated to the sale and hire of birthing pools and items related to pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. The company presents itself as a water birth specialist and states that it has the largest collection of birth products, for both home and hospital use. Its catalogue is aimed at mothers, midwives, doulas, birth centres and the NHS.

Birthing pool hire

The hire service is one of the store's mainstays. The range includes pools with a seat from the MiaVia range (Tranquility, Serenity and Suite models), pools with a step and pools with no step or seat. A hire package for the Mini Birth Pool in a Box and hire of the MiA ViA Tranquility PRO are also available. The company has a dedicated birthing pool hire reservation page and its own terms and conditions for this service.

Sale of pools and water birth accessories

In addition to hire, Birth Supplies sells personal and professional birthing pools, with models such as Eden Pool, Mia Via Professional Pools, La Bassine Pools and Oasis Birth Pools. The catalogue is completed with pool liners (Mia Via Liners, La Bassine Liners, Oasis Liners and compatible liners), birthing pool kits, hoses and tap connectors, and water birth accessories.

TENS machines and pregnancy and postnatal care

The store sells and hires TENS machines, with purchase and hire options, as well as replacement pads and accessories. In the pregnancy and birth section there are items such as hospital bags, aromatherapy (diffusers, essential oils, incense and massage oils), Mama Loves Natural kits, birth balls and stools, and cord care products. For after the birth and recovery, maternity pads, disposable knickers and postpartum bleeding items are offered.

Breastfeeding and baby feeding

The catalogue includes breastfeeding and breast pump products from brands such as Lansinoh, Medela, Ardo and Tommee Tippee, as well as colostrum bottles for feeding, a preemie anti-colic bottle, sterilising and cleaning items, and breast care with breast pads. Featured products include the Mama Loves Natural Safety Colostrum Harvesting Set and the Hydrogel Nipple Care Pads by Mama Loves Natural.

Baby items and trade range for professionals

The baby section covers bathroom, bedroom, feeding, out and about and first aid items. For midwives and professionals there is a bulk buys section and a dedicated trade login. The company also maintains a reading room with articles on the role of birthing pools in home births, preparing your body for a natural birth, writing a birth plan, setting up your birth pool and the transition of traditional male roles in home birth.

Service and team profile

Birth Supplies states that its offices are staffed by a trained doula, a trained midwife and a trained nurse, and that all staff are also parents, which brings personal experience. The company says it works closely with midwives, doulas and antenatal teachers to bring together practical and inexpensive products. The site announces same-day dispatch for orders placed before 2:00 pm and offers telephone support. The company operating the store is DPEK Healthcare Ltd T/A Birth Supplies.
