About ReMint

ReMint: buying used iPhones in the UK

ReMint is the trading name of iMint Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16681436 and registered office in Newbury (Berkshire). The company is exclusively dedicated to buying iPhones in the UK, whether they work correctly or have damage, as long as the phone powers on. Its only website is remint.uk and devices are tested at its unit in Swadlincote (Derbyshire).

Three grading tiers based on iPhone condition

The buying system is divided into three categories defined by the condition of the screen. The 'Working' grade corresponds to phones without cracks or breaks, with all functions operational and battery health of 80% or above. Signs of normal use are accepted. A phone that works but whose battery is below 80% is graded in the intermediate tier, called 'screen fine'.

The 'Faulty / Damaged - Screen Fine' grade covers devices with problems that do not affect the image: cracked glass on the front or back, dents, faulty camera or speaker, unresponsive Face ID or buttons, as long as the screen is original and displays a perfect image. A worn battery in an otherwise flawless phone is also included here. This grade pays around 90% of the 'Working' price.

The 'Faulty / Damaged - Screen Bad' grade applies when the screen has bleeding, lines, white spots, ghost touches or a non-original replacement. It is the lowest grade because the screen is the most expensive component, but it still offers real compensation. A phone with a broken screen retains approximately half the 'Working' price.

Sale process and seller protection

The seller gets an instant price on the website calculator. Once accepted, ReMint sends a free shipping pack with a prepaid Royal Mail tracked label, or provides a QR code to present at any Post Office. The price is locked for 10 days from the order.

On arrival, the device is tested within one working day and paid by bank transfer within 48 hours of receipt, Monday to Friday. If the phone's condition does not match the declared grade, ReMint sends a revised offer with photos and the reason; the seller can accept or decline, in which case the device is returned free of charge. No silent deductions are applied. The user's account shows every step of the process, from sending the pack to the payment leaving.

Requirements and limitations

Only iPhones that power on are bought. Devices that do not start cannot be graded or wiped, so they are returned. The company does not accept other models or brands. The price catalogue shown includes models such as iPhone Air (256 GB to 1 TB, up to £370), iPhone 16 (128 GB to 512 GB, up to £305), iPhone 16 Pro (128 GB to 1 TB, up to £365), iPhone 15 (128 GB to 512 GB, up to £215), iPhone 15 Pro (128 GB to 1 TB, up to £284), iPhone 14 (128 GB to 512 GB, up to £137), iPhone 13 (128 GB to 512 GB, up to £107) and iPhone 12 (64 GB to 256 GB, up to £54). These figures correspond to the information published on the site at the time of analysis and may vary.

Data erasure and certification

All phones are erased following NIST SP 800-88 and IEEE 2883 standards as part of the intake process, before further handling. The company holds ADISA erasure certification (ADPC209) and issues a certificate available in the seller's account.
