Archers Sleepcentre

Archers Sleepcentre, bed and mattress superstores in Scotland

Archers Sleepcentre operates a network of bed stores across Scotland and an online sales channel that delivers throughout the UK. The company presents itself as a large-format retailer: according to its own description, most of its stores have their own warehouse, allowing customers to buy a bed and take it away the same day.

The online catalogue exceeds ten thousand products, although not all are displayed in the showrooms; the company states that in most cases it can show the customer a similar item to help them choose.

Range of beds and bases

The sleep offering includes bed frames, divan beds, divan bases, ottoman divan bases, adjustable beds, TV beds, headboards and beds with storage. It is organised by sizes ranging from small single and single to super king size, including large single, small double, double, king size, extra long and the Euro (IKEA) format.

By material, there are leather, fabric, wooden, rattan and metal beds. The company highlights that its website includes hard-to-find models, such as reinforced beds, waterproof mattresses, 3ft6 beds and especially low divan bed bases.

Mattresses: types, firmness and brands

The mattress range is classified by firmness (from soft to medium, medium, medium to firm, firm and extra firm) and by type: pocket sprung, hybrid, Miracoil, foam, pillow top, in a box, waterproof and for trade or contract use. They are also grouped by filling (memory foam, natural fillings, gel, latex and UltraGel).

Among the brands the store carries are Tempur, Trurest, Silentnight, Alexander & Cole, Sleepeezee, SleepSoul, Rest Assured, Kaymed, Millbrook, ASC, Deluxe, Dura, FlexiSleep, Breasley, Highgrove and Shire.

Adjustable beds and riser recliner chairs

The adjustable beds section includes adjustable divan beds, adjustable bed mattresses, adjustable divan bases, adjustable bed frames, adjustable TV beds and height-adjustable care beds. The company also sells riser recliner chairs, with firmness options that add the dual tension category.

Bedroom furniture and other rooms

Bedroom furniture comprises bedside tables, chests of drawers, dressing tables and their stools, mirrors, blanket boxes and under-bed drawers. Collections are divided into flat-packed furniture and fully assembled furniture, plus bedroom packages. Wardrobes come in single, double and triple door versions, sliding, mirrored, combi, kids, assembled and extra wide; chests of drawers are ordered by number of drawers, from two to seven.

The store extends its offering to the dining room (tables, chairs, sets, benches, bar stools, sideboards and drinks cabinets) and the living room (nesting tables, coffee and side tables, consoles, shelving, TV units, shoe racks, storage units, desks and furniture packs), as well as sofas, armchairs and office and reclining chairs.

Children's and sleep lines

The children's section includes nursery furniture, bunk beds, triple sleepers, high sleepers, mid sleepers, low sleepers, cabin beds, novelty and themed beds, gaming beds and guest beds. In sleep textiles, pillows, duvets, mattress protectors and toppers, sheets and bedding packs are offered.

Buying, finance and delivery

The company allows purchases both online and in store and offers interest-free finance for up to four years. The delivery service covers the whole UK with two-man delivery, including the Scottish islands and other remote locations, and the website announces free delivery on the day of your choice. It also maintains a clearance section with limited stock and a night comfort guarantee. The firm declares a rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot.
