About Quooker UK

Quooker UK and the instant boiling water tap

Quooker UK LTD is the British subsidiary of the firm that sells the Quooker tap, presented on its website as the world's first 100°C boiling water tap. The system combines instant boiling water, filtered cold water, still water and sparkling water at a single point of supply, as well as conventional hot and cold water. The company estimates that over 775,000 systems have been installed in the UK.

A compact tank under the sink

The tap is installed on the worktop and connects to a tank located in the kitchen cabinet, which works like a vacuum flask fed by the water mains. The website details the dimensions of each variant: the PRO3 tank requires 50 cm in height and 15 cm in diameter; the COMBI and COMBI+ tanks require 53 cm in height and 20 cm in diameter; and the CUBE system occupies 500 mm in height, 223 mm in width and 340 mm in depth. The COMBI, with high-vacuum insulation, has an A energy label and supplies water at 100°C and hot water between 40°C and 60°C, with an immediate reserve of 15 litres at 60°C when cold water is mixed with boiling water. The PRO3 only dispenses boiling water.

Range of taps and finishes

The collection includes several product families, with round or square spout options and more than 35 different styles and finishes:

  • Flex: best-selling all-in-one model, with a flexible pull-out hose to direct the spray; from £1,250.
  • Fusion: round or square version of the iconic all-in-one tap; from £1,250.
  • Front: the latest and most ergonomic model, with hot and cold water controls on the front of the spout; from £1,400.
  • Classic Fusion: round or square variant with a classic bevelled design; from £1,450.
  • Nordic Single Tap: separate boiling water tap alongside the mixer; from £1,050 in round or square version.
  • Nordic Twintaps: set of a separate boiling water tap and a matching mixer; from £1,300.

Among the finishes mentioned are Gunmetal, Rose Copper, Black, Stainless Steel, Gold and Patinated Brass, the latter described as a warm brass with a living character that evolves with use. The catalogue also shows accessories and spare parts: CO₂ cylinders, CUBE filters, service parts and other complements.

Domestic uses and space saving

The company presents the appliance as a versatile device for making tea or coffee, blanching vegetables, sterilising baby bottles or cleaning pans, and notes that the Flex hose makes it easier to rinse the sink and chopping boards. It also highlights the worktop space saved by eliminating the kettle and the possibility of using the cabinet space thanks to the small size of the tank. As for consumption, it states that the Quooker uses 10 watts of energy.

Safety and origin of the product

Asked about the safety of boiling water, the firm argues that the tap is the safest option for the home and cites a 2020 study by the Dutch Burns Foundation on the use of boiling water taps and the risk of burns, whose conclusion was that replacing the kettle with this type of tap appears to reduce the risk of burn accidents. Among the safety features mentioned are a spray that does not come out as a solid jet, an insulated and rotating tap, a child-safe handle and the impossibility of tipping over. The company traces the origin of the idea back to 1970, when Henri Peteri conceived a tap capable of producing instant boiling water.

Quooker UK organises virtual demonstrations to show the full collection and offers showroom events, live product demonstrations and collaborations with partners. The website includes a dealer locator to find associated points of sale. The company's headquarters are in Manchester.
