About Speech Hub
Speech Hub: communication coaching in London
Speech Hub is a team of communication coaches based in London. It is made up of classically trained actors, a former infantry officer and an award-winning broadcaster. Its method draws on the techniques taught at Britain's leading drama schools and applies them to corporate environments, presentations and interviews. Each session works like a rehearsal room: the client speaks, receives precise feedback and leaves with tools they can apply immediately.
One-to-one coaching services
The company offers one-to-one coaching tailored to each person's specific needs. Services include public speaking, accent softening, elocution, media training and interview preparation. Sessions can take place in their London studio or online. The process begins by establishing a baseline to measure progress objectively.
Programmes for teams and organisations
Speech Hub designs bespoke programmes for organisations, focused on real situations such as client pitches, all-hands meetings or technical experts communicating with boards of directors. The offer ranges from half-day workshops to multi-week programmes, delivered at the client's offices or remotely, with a personalised quote.
The method: six areas of change
Speech Hub's approach is built around six specific aspects, without imposing an artificial personality:
- Tone: the colour of the voice, with warmth, authority and curiosity used intentionally.
- Emphasis: which word carries the meaning of the sentence; moving the stress changes the message.
- Clarity and articulation: consonants, vowels and pace to be easily understood.
- Breath and vocal strength: support, projection and stamina to speak for an hour without strain.
- Body language: stillness, gestures and eye contact, what the room perceives before you finish your first sentence.
- Structure: building the message so it is memorable and rebuilding it live if the context changes.
The SPEAKIT framework
The company has developed an in-house assessment framework called SPEAKIT, made up of seven letters representing seven factors that determine whether a room believes the speaker. Speech Hub does not publish the meaning of the seven letters; the system is explained during a coaching session, where personal scores are reviewed and the area to address first is identified. The framework is used as an assessment before and after programmes to measure progress.
Clients and experience
Speech Hub has worked with a range of organisations, including Afoofa, Arden University, CPD Essentials, Hadley Property Group, Breck Foundation, Maybourne Group, Blue Light Card, British Army, Thursday, Your Remote CMO and City of London. In terms of specific projects, it has run workshops for Hyperexponential on tone and emphasis, worked with UK Ministry of Defence personnel on command presence and clarity under pressure, trained Arden University's sales team in structure and handling difficult questions, advised The Maybourne Group on communication and provided coaching at The Emory, London. It has also collaborated with speakers and sponsors at a radiology conference in Manchester.
Client profile
The company works with professionals at all levels, from interns and graduates to chief executives. Its approach is based on the fact that communication techniques are the same regardless of role, although the stakes and the audience change. The programmes address situations such as speaking up in a meeting, holding a position under pressure or getting three hundred people to believe in a strategy.
Working process
The process begins with a free 30-minute discovery call, in which the client's goal is analysed and it is determined whether Speech Hub is the right provider. Then, a first one-hour session with a coach establishes the baseline through the SPEAKIT assessment. From there, the client chooses an individual package or a team programme. One-to-one sessions can be taken individually or in courses of five or ten sessions, with the option of taking place in the London studio or online.
One-to-one coaching rates
The company's catalogue shows a 60-minute one-to-one session for £175, a five-session course for £625 and a ten-session course for £1,000. The courses include practice materials and, in the case of the ten-session course, a full SPEAKIT assessment before and after, as well as a personalised communication roadmap. Team programmes are quoted bespoke.
