Methodology and support
The training process is organised into six stages: choosing the course, enrolment and payment, studying the theoretical materials at your own pace, attending a hands-on practical workshop in London with one-to-one supervision, submitting case studies and a written assessment, and receiving your certificate. The academy notes that each student completes more than 36 case studies and that tutors provide detailed feedback throughout the process. After qualification, three to five months of support is included.
Accreditations and recognition
The courses are accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM), which the academy presents as internationally recognised. The company states it has trained more than 700 practitioners, with students from over 20 countries, and notes that among its students are more than 100 doctors and healthcare professionals. It also states that the NN Facial Hijama® trademark has been registered in the UK in Classes 41 (education) and 44 (medical and beauty services) since 2019.
History
The academy traces the origin of Facial Hijama® to 2009, when Nasima Nahar developed the first structured facial wet cupping protocol in the UK. In 2012 the first accredited training was launched and in 2019 the trademark was registered. The organisation declares more than 17 years of clinical experience and more than 15,000 hijama sessions performed by its founder. Training is delivered in London and is aimed at practitioners from the UK and abroad.
Treatments and clinical services
In addition to its training activity, the academy offers Facial Hijama® treatments, described as a gentle, therapeutic and rejuvenating treatment for acne, psoriasis, acne scars and hyperpigmentation. It also offers fertility hijama and provides a directory to find trained therapists.
