About Dog Shepherds
Dog walking, doggy daycare and dog training in north London
Dog Shepherds is a London-based company dedicated to dog walking, doggy daycare and dog training, including puppy training. It was founded by Pedro and Francisco, two friends who grew up with dogs and had been working in the industry for years before creating the company. The company presents itself as a trusted team operating in different areas of the city.
Walking and care services
The main activity is group walks, which take place in Hampstead Heath Extension or Regent's Park, spaces where dogs can play and roam free. The company limits each group to a maximum of four dogs to maximise the attention each animal receives. In addition to walking, it offers doggy daycare and dog and puppy training sessions.
The service includes assigning a permanent walker to each dog, with the aim of maintaining a consistent and stress-free environment. Each dog wears a GPS tracker during the walk, and owners receive daily communications with updates, photos and videos. The company's vehicles are equipped for the comfortable transport of the animals to the park.
Coverage areas
Dog Shepherds provides service in north and northwest London. The areas it covers include Hampstead, Queen's Park, Golders Green, Primrose Hill, Regent's Park, Maida Vale and Finchley, among others.
Team
Alongside the founders, the company has a team of five people dedicated to the care and walking of the dogs. Francisco, co-founder, started walking dogs for friends and family during high school and worked for several years as a professional walker before creating Dog Shepherds; his method is based on understanding each dog's personality and forming compatible groups. Pedro, the other founder, describes walking as an activity that brings him daily satisfaction. Daria began by helping Francisco and is responsible for the photographic documentation of the outings and the company's channels. Filipe has twelve years of experience as a walker, and Abbie is part of the walking team.
How it works and service conditions
The company recommends establishing a regular schedule for each dog, although it also accommodates occasional needs subject to availability. Payment is made weekly by direct debit. The walkers are insured for pet care services covering accidents during walking and transport, loss of house keys and travel costs of up to £1000 in the event of interrupting a holiday due to an emergency. Some walkers can accommodate dogs in their home, although availability for this service is very limited and it is advisable to book in advance.
Contact and first appointment
The company handles new requests through a form detailing the dog's details, breed, required days and preferred pick-up time, in order to arrange a first meet & greet and to contract the walking, daycare or training service.
