About Sentrix GPS
Sentrix GPS: hidden tracker for motorbikes, vans and cars
Sentrix GPS is a British company that sells a hidden GPS tracker designed for motorcycles, vans and cars. The device is presented as a silent alternative to conventional trackers: it stays inactive while the Bluetooth fob is near the vehicle, and as soon as someone moves it without the key, it makes an actual phone call to the owner with the live location.
How it works and the anti-theft alert
The system relies on a Bluetooth fob that pairs with the device. While the fob is nearby, the tracker emits no lights or sounds and does not give away its presence. When it detects movement without the key nearby, it triggers an alert sequence: first it checks that the fob is absent, then it sends the signal to the company's servers and finally calls the user's phone. The call includes the live location and is re-sent if the signal drops. According to the specifications, the measured time between movement and the alert being sent is 24 seconds, and subsequent alerts within the same episode take between 2 and 3 seconds. The system makes up to three calls spaced 30 seconds apart; during the call you can press 1 to mute for 45 minutes or 2 to activate 30 minutes of live tracking.
Device features
The tracker has a matte black finish with no logos or light indicators, measures 40 × 40 × 60 mm, and is designed to be hidden under the seat, behind a panel or in the fairing. It requires no wiring to the vehicle: it charges via USB. Once the first alert has been sent, the device "goes dark" and stops emitting a signal so that thieves' scanners cannot locate it. If no satellites are available, such as in garages or underground car parks, it uses the nearest mobile phone mast to determine the location. Typical accuracy is 5 to 30 metres at street level, with live updates every 5 minutes while moving and every 15 minutes when stationary during the first 24 hours of each stop. When the vehicle is parked, it performs a daily check.
Mobile app and tracking
The app, available for iPhone and Android, is free and has no in-app purchases. It shows a red alert with a live satellite map, street-level position, signal and speed, as well as route history and the option to navigate directly to the vehicle. It also reports battery and SIM status. Live tracking can be activated on demand in 30-minute periods and does not work below 15% battery. Trip history is recorded only during an alert and is kept for 30 days. Firmware updates are delivered over the air via Bluetooth and, if interrupted, the system rolls back to the previous version.
Battery, network and battery life
The device draws approximately 1 µA at rest, so charging is infrequent: the company says it is measured in months, not days. No standby battery life figure has been published yet. During an active theft, the measured consumption is around 22% of charge in the first 24 hours (measured over 23.2 hours). It connects via UK mobile networks; the SIM is included and is not locked to one operator. The company has not yet published an IP rating.
Price, subscription and warranty
The shop catalogue shows a price of £110 for the Founders edition, compared with £130 after launch. It includes free UK shipping, a one-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The app is free, but live tracking requires a SIM: after two free months, the service costs £30 a year (about £2.50 a month) for national coverage. The company gives notice before expiry and renewal is done in the app, with no automatic charges. Payment is handled through Stripe.
Origin and support
Sentrix GPS is presented as a product designed in the UK by motorcyclists and drivers. The company says development began after a friend's motorbike was stolen in 90 seconds. It offers UK support with personal service and responds to enquiries within one business day. The company states that location data is encrypted, belongs to the user and is not sold, in compliance with UK GDPR.
