LIPS Healthcare, private multi-speciality clinic at Battersea Power Station

LIPS Healthcare is a private clinic founded in 2016 and located at Battersea Power Station, London. It treats both patients living in the city and international visitors, and presents itself as the UK's largest private multi-speciality group. Its model combines general practice and urgent care consultations with diagnostics, specialist consultations, surgery and an integrated pharmacy all in one place.

The clinic brings together more than 170 consultants practising across more than 30 specialities and sees more than 57,000 patients a year. The consultants are licensed specialists who work at leading UK hospitals, according to the clinic's own presentation.

The service catalogue covers urgent care, general practice, the Longevity Centre, GP membership, aesthetics clinic, audiology with hearing tests, blood tests, bone densitometry, breast clinic, cardiology, children's health, dental, dermatology, dietetics, ENT, eXroid haemorrhoid treatment, female fertility, Gastric Alimetry for chronic stomach symptoms, general surgery, geriatrics, gut health test, gynaecology and obstetrics, haematology, hearing aids, hip and knee replacement, iron infusion, jaw pain and TMJ, knee osteoarthritis with Arthrosamid, liver health with FibroScan, maxillofacial surgery, menopause, mole mapping, neurology, nutrition, obstructive sleep apnoea, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, plastic surgery, psychiatry, imaging, rheumatology, sexual health, skin lumps and bumps, spine and neurosurgery, lower and upper limb trauma and orthopaedics, testosterone replacement therapy, ultrasound, and urology and andrology.

Care is organised without the need for a GP referral and with the possibility of a same-day appointment, both for patients paying directly and for those using medical insurance.

Consultants and clinical team

Among the specialists the clinic presents are Mr Philip Mathew, in trauma and orthopaedics; Professor Bu'Hussain Hayee, in gastroenterology and hepatology; Mr Ahmad Aziz, in ophthalmology; Dr Geoff Lawrence-Smith, in psychotherapy; Mrs Neha Sihra, in urology and andrology; Dr Yu Zhen Lau, as a general practitioner; Mr Sanjith Gnanappiragasam, in urology and andrology; Dr Neel Desai, in anaesthesia; Mr Razi Zaidi, in trauma and orthopaedics, and Mr Joshua Lee, also in trauma and orthopaedics.

Some of the consultants have appeared in the Netflix documentary series Critical: Between Life and Death, according to information released by the clinic itself.

International patients

LIPS Healthcare has a dedicated team for international patients that handles the coordination of specialist appointments and support with visa procedures. To facilitate communication, medical assistants and many of the doctors speak Arabic and other languages.

Financing and insurers

The clinic offers the possibility of spreading the cost of treatment through Chrysalis Finance, an entity authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. LIPS BATTERSA LIMITED, which operates as LIPS Healthcare, acts as an appointed representative of Chrysalis Finance Limited and as a credit broker, not as a lender.

Among the private insurers it works with are AXA PPP, AXA International, Bupa, Bupa International, WPA, Vitality, Healix, Allianz Worldwide, Exeter, Preferred Healthcare, Tricare, Aetna Global Benefits, Cigna and United Healthcare.

Integrated pharmacy

The Battersea Power Station site includes its own pharmacy, which makes it possible to coordinate the dispensing of medicines within the same space where consultations and diagnostic tests are carried out.

Opening soon: day case hospital

The clinic plans to open a day case hospital on Prince of Wales Drive in 2026. It will have advanced imaging, including MRI and CT, dedicated operating theatres, procedure rooms and a minor injuries unit, with the aim of covering the full process from diagnosis through to treatment.

Partnership with Affidea

In July 2026, a strategic partnership was announced between LIPS Healthcare and Affidea, a pan-European provider of community clinics, advanced diagnostics and specialist private healthcare services. The agreement aims to accelerate Affidea's growth in the UK and bring LIPS the group's expertise in out-of-hospital care.
