Founded in 1930, it works with a network of UK insurers to offer specific cover to owners of motorbikes, scooters, mopeds and classic or modified motorcycles. The company presents itself as one of the country's leading motorcycle insurance brokers and has its own teams in Peterborough and Coventry, with a workforce of approximately 170 people.

BikeSocial, the community created by the broker

In 2012 Bennetts launched BikeSocial, a digital motorcycling content platform that, according to its data, reaches more than half a million motorcyclists a year. It includes reviews of new and used bikes, product tests, news, interviews and videos. On this foundation, the BikeSocial Membership is built: a benefits programme with discounts on gear, accessories, rider training and track days, as well as prize draws and competitions.

Membership is free for those who take out insurance directly with Bennetts, while customers who come through a comparison site receive it as a twelve-month subscription. It can also be purchased separately, at £6 per month or £60 per year. The site valued this membership at £60.

Sponsorships and links to motorcycling

The company declares itself headline sponsor of the London Moto Show and personal sponsor of Isle of Man TT rider John McGuinness. It also supports the Trail Riders Fellowship in its work for responsible off-road riding and the conservation of green roads, and maintains a partnership with the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), a leading enduro event.
