FRAMELESS
FRAMELESS presents more than 40 masterpieces across four immersive galleries at Marble Arch in London, with large-scale projections, a café, a shop, and events for different audiences.
About FRAMELESS
A short walk from Marble Arch, FRAMELESS treats art as an environment rather than a row of framed pictures. In its London galleries, well-known works are enlarged across walls and floors through projection, animation, and sound. Visitors move through the imagery at their own pace and can look at familiar details from a different scale.
The permanent experience presents more than 40 masterpieces across four galleries: Beyond Reality, Colour In Motion, The World Around Us, and The Art of Abstraction. Each room offers a different way into painting, from landscapes and city scenes to abstraction, color, and dreamlike worlds. The route includes works by Monet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Dalí, Canaletto, Rembrandt, and Klimt.
The format changes how a work fills the room without turning the visit into a conventional collection display. Images extend across the visitor’s field of view, animation shapes transitions, and an original score supports each gallery’s atmosphere. Visitors can move through the rooms in any order, pausing at a projection, keeping pace with companions, or returning to a space that caught their attention.
The calendar changes throughout the year with temporary exhibitions, special experiences, and programs for different audiences. FRAMELESS offers family activities, multisensory classes for young children, and after-hours Lates sessions. Friday and Saturday Lates are for guests 18 and older. Accessible formats include audio-described tours, British Sign Language support, and sessions designed with lower sensory stimulation.
The venue recommends allowing about two hours for the four galleries; last entry is two hours before closing. Afterward, the café-bar offers a place to pause before browsing the shop for art-inspired gifts and keepsakes. FRAMELESS’s digital guide provides information in several languages, including Spanish, to help visitors follow along on their phones.
FRAMELESS is at 6 Marble Arch in London’s West End, close to Oxford Street, Mayfair, and Hyde Park. Marble Arch Underground station is about a one-minute walk away; Bond Street, Edgware Road, and Marylebone are also within walking distance. Several bus routes stop by the arch, with rail connections from Victoria, Paddington, Marylebone, and Waterloo.
The venue works for a cultural outing or a family visit because each person can move at their own pace and choose where to linger. The artworks, immersive projection, and changing program make the experience evolve with the calendar. Before setting out, check the listings and opening times for the intended date, as hours can vary during the year.
