Vintage Tea Party
London afternoon tea and vintage china rental service launched in 2015, with catering, staff, period props, and celebration setup.
About Vintage Tea Party
A hand-painted rose tea set, given to her grandmother as a wedding gift, inspired Vintage Tea Party’s founder while planning her own celebration. Unable to find the service she imagined, she began collecting vintage china and organized an afternoon tea reception. She then wanted to share that collection: the business launched in 2015 and now works from Hammersmith on events across London.
The offering brings together food, objects, and setup. Vintage china can be rented separately or combined with catering, service staff, and preparation of the space. Weddings, birthdays, christenings, baby showers, and corporate gatherings are among the events the company describes. The format accommodates both a small table and a larger celebration.
Cake Away delivers afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam, cakes, and organic tea. It includes china rental for serving the meal. Afterward, the pieces go back into their box for collection, and the team handles washing up. The experience retains reusable tableware even when the gathering takes place at home.
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are incorporated into menu planning. For larger gatherings or specific requirements, clients work with the chefs on a customized selection. Service staff can serve the meal on vintage china, allowing food and presentation to be organized as parts of the same event.
The collection brings together English bone china, with pieces chosen to combine shapes, colors, and patterns. The company states it can accommodate celebrations of up to four hundred guests and sets no minimum china-rental booking. Selections can follow an event’s color scheme, giving a table a cohesive look without requiring every piece to be identical.
Prop rental extends the setting beyond the cups. A 1930s typewriter, period leather suitcases, folding cameras, and vintage books are among its accessories. A croquet set adds an activity for garden parties. These elements are incorporated according to the space and the character of the celebration.
Styling services focus especially on weddings and larger events, with attention to the overall composition and setup. The company also describes work for photo shoots, television, and productions. Its specialty is bringing the ceremony of afternoon tea with china into different settings, with options ranging from object rental to a complete reception.
