About Kitt Medical

Kitt Medical: anaphylaxis kits and training for UK schools and businesses

Kitt Medical is a British company that markets a managed subscription service for compliance with Benedict's Law (School Allergy Safety Bill). Its offering combines a wall-mounted emergency kit —called Anaphylaxis Kitt— with auto-injectable adrenaline pens, accredited online training and a management portal. The company states that its Kitts have saved more than 55 lives and that over 5,000 centres across the UK have them installed.

The Anaphylaxis Kitt and adrenaline pens

The Anaphylaxis Kitt is a wall-mounted device designed to be installed in visible and accessible locations, such as reception or the canteen, similar to a defibrillator. Each Kitt includes a subscription to auto-injectable adrenaline pens (AAIs) with a guaranteed shelf life of at least 12 months. The pens are replaced automatically before their expiry date or when used and reported to the company. The service also includes incident and near-miss reporting, with no-cost adrenaline replenishment.

Accredited online training and management portal

The subscription includes unlimited access to a 30-minute online CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training course on allergies and anaphylaxis, aimed at all staff. The course was created in collaboration with Allergy UK, Anaphylaxis UK and St John Ambulance, and features professionals such as Professor Adam Fox, Dr Helen Evans-Howells, Dr Lynn Thomas (Medical Director of St John Ambulance) and Simone Miles (CEO of Allergy UK). It consists of seven videos and multiple-choice questions, and covers everything from food and environmental allergies to intolerances, asthma, anaphylaxis symptoms and treatment, emergency adrenaline devices and case studies in schools and businesses. More than 100,000 people have completed the training. The online portal allows you to manage your subscription, monitor medication, access allergy policy templates, carry out monthly checkups and consult training resources.

For schools and businesses

The service is aimed at schools and academies of all sizes —from small primaries to large secondary schools and multi-academy trusts (MATs)—, as well as businesses that need to strengthen their health and safety policies. The company states that it serves hundreds of qualifying organisations, from Alton Towers to McLaren Group. The training is designed to help schools comply with Benedict's Law and businesses improve their preparedness for allergic emergencies.

Recognition and presence

In 2025, co-founders Zak Marks and James Cohen took part in the BBC television programme Dragons' Den, where they secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett. The company has also been in the news for the installation of ten anaphylaxis Kitts at London Luton Airport, the first in the UK to adopt this system. The Kitts are manufactured and assembled in the UK using recycled plastics.

Team

The leadership team consists of Zak Marks (co-founder and CEO), James Cohen (co-founder and COO), Dr Simon Hanassab (CTO), Jonny Byre (Business Development Lead), Olivia Tuckwell (Customer Relationships Lead) and Laura Siggers (Account Executive). Zak Marks, who has severe nut allergies, came up with the idea of the Kitt while studying design at university.
