About Color & Co UK
Scandinavian-designed natural roller blinds in London
Color & Co UK is a London-based company dedicated to selling roller blinds made from natural materials. Its catalogue is built around bamboo, jute and paper, and all blinds are made to measure according to the dimensions requested by the customer. The company presents itself as a Scandinavian-inspired firm seeking to bring a simple, decorative and cosy feel to interiors, what in Denmark they call hygge.
Materials and types of blinds
The range is organised by material and by operating system. Bamboo blinds are mounted on a chain-operated roller system and the company describes them as durable and suitable for use around children. Paper blinds are available in various colours and styles, with different levels of transparency, also chain-operated. Jute blinds are woven with fibres extracted from the plant's stalk and can be purchased with a chain or cord pull.
Among the standout items in the catalogue are models such as the brown plant roller blind, the brown fine bamboo roller blind, the light paper roller blind with chain pull, the higher-opacity bamboo roller blind and the latest fine-striped bamboo versions. The starting prices shown in the shop ranged from £114 for some plant references to £174 for the latest striped bamboo models, with intermediate variants around £120 and £126.
Origins and background
The company traces its origins to a personal experience: the founders remembered the brown bamboo blinds from their family home in Denmark and the warm atmosphere they created. After failing to find similar products on the Danish market, they decided to create their own business and launched Color & Co in 2014. Since then they have designed and sold updated blinds in multiple variants and colours, always using natural materials such as bamboo, jute and paper.
The firm is run by two sisters. Sofie Flachs Melson, co-founder and CEO, has a background in graphic design and worked as an art director, mainly in the magazine sector, as well as maintaining a continued interest in interior design. Rikke Kristina Flachs, co-founder and COO, has accumulated experience in sales, starting in retail and later expanding into real estate and as a key account manager.
Sustainability and product approach
The company links its activity to reducing environmental impact and states that it optimises the journey of its products as much as possible. Its proposition is based on the exclusive use of natural materials and its own design that seeks a simple but decorative result. The blinds are sold in different designs, colours, structures and degrees of transparency.
Showroom, customer service and trade sales
Color & Co UK has a showroom at its offices where all the blinds and fabrics can be seen. There is on-site parking and it is within walking distance of Willesden Junction. The company also serves trade customers through a trade account programme, with a specific form to apply to become this type of customer.
Purchase support services
The website brings together guides for measuring and installing the blinds, a frequently asked questions section and the possibility of requesting free samples. It also offers the option to book a design appointment, aimed at those who prefer advice before deciding on a model.
