Honest Burgers
Burger restaurant founded in Brixton, with its own butchery, rosemary-salted fries, plant-based choices, and location-specific specials.
About Honest Burgers
Honest Burgers began in Brixton in 2011, after Tom and Phil met while working at a Brighton restaurant. The idea was to build a place where people could sit down, eat, and spend time together. That first kitchen remains part of the story of a British brand whose identity centers on beef, potatoes, and nearby suppliers.
The company has its own butchery and makes burgers from scratch. It uses beef from Great Britain and Northern Ireland, chopping it to retain a coarser texture rather than grinding it repeatedly. That preparation choice helps explain why beef sits at the center of the offering.
Potatoes come from a Sussex farm and are cooked fresh, double-fried, and seasoned with rosemary salt. They have accompanied burgers as a standard part of the plate since the first restaurant. In-house preparation extends to pickles, sauces, lemonade, and vegetable dishes; the menu includes beef burgers, smashed versions, halal chicken, and vegetarian and vegan alternatives.
Each restaurant features a local burger developed with neighborhood partners and beers from nearby producers. In Brixton, the collaboration with Ruben’s Rubens adds salt beef, American cheese, mustard, burger sauce, onion, and pickles. Local specials create differences between locations sharing the same burger-and-fries foundation.
The original location is at Unit 12, Brixton Village, London SW9 8PR. The market places dining among shops, stalls, and other businesses, with a small outdoor area. The restaurant’s current description allows bookings for groups of six or more and also welcomes walk-ins; reservation conditions differ across the network.
Other South London addresses include Clapham at 75 Venn Street, London SW4 0BD; East Dulwich at 121 Lordship Lane, London SE22 8HU; and Peckham at 12–16 Blenheim Grove, London SE15 4QL. The network extends to other London neighborhoods and cities such as Bristol, Cambridge, and Reading. Each location presents its own menu and services.
Food can be enjoyed in the restaurant, picked up through Click & Collect, or ordered for delivery. Delivery depends on the area and each kitchen’s operation. Some locations have celebration spaces and organize large office or event orders, a service distinct from an ordinary table reservation.
Honest Insiders brings together rewards and updates through the app. Questions about menus, dietary options, dogs, outdoor tables, or group sizes are organized by restaurant. The kitchen retains a recognizable foundation, while location, the local special, and ordering format help diners choose how to experience it.
