The Dog Friendly Map

The Dog Friendly Map: maps of places where dogs are welcome inside

The Dog Friendly Map is a British guide focused on finding venues and activities where dogs are allowed inside the premises, not just on terraces or outdoor areas. The project presents itself as a resource for those travelling around the UK with their dog and wanting to keep the animal's company throughout the day, whether on a day trip, a weekend away or a holiday.

The approach is based on local maps built town by town, with particular attention to holiday destinations. Each pin on the map links to the corresponding town page, from which you can start planning your visit.

Free maps by town

The website offers free dog-friendly maps organised by towns and cities. These include cafés, pubs, shops and other activities where dogs are allowed inside. The company states that every indoor welcome is checked, to avoid visitors arriving at a venue only to find the dog has to stay outside.

MY MAP: personalised planning

For those who prefer to delegate the organisation, the MY MAP service creates a personalised map based on the details provided by the user: where they are, who they are travelling with and what matters to them. The company carries out the research and puts together a selection of places tailored to those needs, which may include pubs, cafés, days out, easy parking and wet-weather options. The price shown on the site for this personalised map is £8.99.

For venue owners

Venues that welcome dogs inside can request to be listed in the guide via a form that, according to the website, takes about two minutes. The company notes that it only lists venues that allow dogs inside the premises.

Data and licensing

The company also offers data and AI licensing, with a specific contact for this type of agreement. The guide is distributed under the registered trademark The Dog Friendly Map.
