Sigma 3 Kitchens

Sigma 3 Kitchens: luxury kitchen design and manufacturing since 1975

Sigma 3 Kitchens is a second-generation family business dedicated to the design, manufacture and installation of luxury kitchens. Founded in 1975, it produces its own kitchen furniture in Wales at two plants located in Llantrisant (next to the Royal Mint, on the outskirts of Cardiff) and Bridgend. The company states its production space exceeds 200,000 square feet and employs more than 230 people.

Its proposition is based on offering finishes and storage solutions typical of bespoke kitchens at more restrained prices. The company presents its catalogue as an alternative to bespoke kitchens, with collections that, according to its own description, incorporate elements usually reserved for six-figure projects.

Collections and furniture configuration

The catalogue is organised into several collections: Style, Timeless, H-Line and Signature. The firm describes the Timeless Collection as a reinterpretation of traditional designs and the H-Line Collection as a modern German-inspired aesthetic with a British touch. The offer includes more than 400 kitchen styles, more than 80 colours and finishes, and 11 furniture colours, with over 14,000 possible cabinet configuration combinations.

The furniture is presented without central posts, with high-quality doors and interior drawers available in five colours. The company states that its Blum handles and hinges come with a lifetime guarantee.

Storage and design features

One of the brand's key focuses is storage. The website details solutions such as corner pantries, dresser units, drinks cabinets, extra-wide drawers and cabinets, integrated bins, pantries and larders, pull-out larders and utility room storage.

Design features include bi-fold door cabinets, boot rooms, chef's tables, freestanding islands, inframe effect, open shelving, sliding door cabinets, wine drawers and wood crate drawers. The catalogue is completed with appliances, handles and worktops.

Fitted wardrobes and other spaces

In addition to kitchens, the company offers fitted wardrobes for bedrooms or home offices, with floor-to-ceiling storage, starting from £1,000 according to published information. It also has specific lines for trade kitchens (Trade Kitchens) and for property developers with multi-plot developments (Contract Kitchens), both teams based at the Llantrisant plant and covering south Wales.

Prices, finance and guarantees

The company sets the price of its kitchens from £15,000 and notes that the Timeless and H-Line collections start at around £12,000. It offers deferred payment options and a price-matching service for comparable quotes of similar quality and design.

Regarding guarantees, the company declares 10-year cover on cabinets, 3 years on doors and a lifetime guarantee on Blum hinges, and explains that it prefers this transparent formula over longer guarantees with restrictive conditions.

Design and installation service

The process begins with a free design consultation in which designers study the client's needs, lifestyle and budget. The company supports the project from initial design to signing the installation, and offers visits to its showrooms, catalogues and virtual tours.

Sigma 3 Kitchens operates seven showrooms in Abergavenny, Cardiff East, Cardiff Culverhouse Cross, Esher, Llantrisant, Newport and Swansea. The company states it has over 2,500 five-star reviews and presents itself as the UK's highest-rated luxury kitchen retailer, a status it attributes to its customers' reviews.
