The care offer includes procedures and diagnostic tests such as video-assisted thoracoscopy (VAT), spirometry, rapid access lung clinic, pleurectomy, pleural aspiration, CT-guided lung biopsy, open lung biopsy, mediastinotomy, mannitol challenge test, long-term oxygen therapy, breathing tests, EBUS, exercise tolerance test, diagnostic sleep test, bronchoscopy, lung surgery, extraction of teeth, transoesophageal echocardiogram, coronary angiogram, TAVI, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery and day case vacuum assisted closure (VAC) therapy.

Tests and treatments related to cystic fibrosis are also included, such as CF-related diabetes, contraception in CF, nebulisers and infertility in male patients with CF.

Rehabilitation and prevention

Research activity is structured around the Clinical Trials Unit, research streams and groups, the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science, the ICECAP clinical research facility and the SURE Group.
