About Muve

Muve, online conveyancing for buying or selling property in England and Wales

Muve is a conveyancing firm — the legal management of property purchases and sales — operating in England and Wales with a digital model. Its proposition rests on three elements the company presents as distinctive: a fixed legal fee agreed in advance, an in-house account manager assigned to each case, and an online portal available 24/7 to check progress, upload documents and communicate with the team. The firm emphasises that it covers the whole of England and Wales without sacrificing a personal touch.

Two service options: Muve Forward and Muve Lightspeed

The company structures its offering on two levels. Muve Forward is the standard option, with proactive case management, an assigned conveyancer, a dedicated account manager and access to the tracking portal; the firm indicates that it usually targets exchange of contracts at around twelve weeks. Muve Lightspeed is the higher-speed option, aimed at being ready to exchange from seven weeks, with a senior conveyancer leading the case and a timeline guarantee. In both cases the company warns that timelines depend on all parties being ready and on the particularities of each property.

Fixed fee, price guarantee and cover if the transaction does not proceed

The price is presented as a transparent fixed legal fee, with no unexpected extras unless legal requirements arise that could not be identified at the time of quotation. The firm clarifies that disbursements and file set-up fees are not part of that legal fee. In addition, it applies a 'No Move, No Legal Fee' policy: if the purchase or sale does not complete, it does not charge the quoted legal fee. The Lightspeed option includes a price guarantee under which, if the target exchange week is not met, £100 is deducted for each week of delay up to a maximum of £600, subject to conditions.

Digital portal and support throughout the process

The service includes digital onboarding and identity verification through the secure portal, which allows the case to be tracked at any time. The company contrasts this model with local firms: it acknowledges that these may offer face-to-face meetings, but argues that limited office hours and waiting times add friction, compared with a digital service with knowledge of regional property markets. According to its comparison, the average exchange time for a local firm is around seventeen weeks and their fees are on average 20% higher, points the company itself attributes to its commercial presentation.

Awards and regulation

Muve presents itself as an award-winning firm in the sector. It states that it won the National Conveyancing Firm of the Year award in 2022 and 2024, appeared in The Sunday Times 100 Fastest Growing Companies in 2023 and 2024, and received the Silver Award from The Negotiator as Supplier of the Year in 2024 and 2022, with a finalist presence in 2025. It states that it is regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) and holds an Outstanding rating on Smoove, a conveyancing and moving platform. As for ratings, it indicates more than 10,000 five-star reviews on Trustpilot, a score of 4.6 stars on that platform and a 4.6 rating on Google from more than 5,000 reviews.

Stages of the process the firm supports

The website describes the usual journey of a property transaction in five phases: instructing the conveyancer, finalising financing — including evidence of funds and communication with the mortgage lender —, reviewing the title and the property's legal documentation, exchanging contracts with the completion date set, and finally moving day, when the price is paid, fees are settled and the new ownership is registered. Muve positions itself as a support at each of these stages.

Seasonal campaign and informative content

The site features a Christmas campaign encouraging instruction before the end of October to try to complete exchange before Christmas, with different timelines depending on whether the property is freehold or leasehold. The firm also maintains a knowledge hub with guides for buyers and sellers, particularly for those facing their first purchase, and articles on buying a home in winter or preparing for the move.
