Tiboo

Tiboo, bamboo and sugarcane toilet paper and sustainable cleaning

Tiboo is a UK online store that sells hygiene and cleaning products made from plant fibres as alternatives to wood. Its catalogue is organised into two main ranges, one for the home and one for businesses, and centres on bamboo and sugarcane as raw materials. The company presents itself with the slogan "Make the switch for a more you" and places sustainability and savings at the heart of its commercial proposition.

Home catalogue

The domestic section brings together pure bamboo and luxury sugarcane toilet paper, bamboo tissues, bamboo kitchen rolls, eco-friendly cloths and scourers, laundry and dishwasher products, eco-friendly cleaners, natural hand wash and a sustainable health and beauty line. Featured references include three-ply bamboo toilet paper in double-length rolls, three-ply sugarcane toilet paper in 48 double-length rolls, individually wrapped sugarcane rolls in packs of 40 and premium bamboo toilet paper in 48 rolls, available unwhitened and unwrapped. Combined packs of toilet paper and kitchen rolls in mini and standard formats are also offered, along with heavy-duty bamboo cloths in packs of 25 or 50 units.

Supplies for businesses and hospitality

The professional line includes sustainable toilet rolls, paper hand towels and couch rolls, sugarcane system toilet paper dispensers, eco-friendly cloths and scourers, eco-friendly napkins, refuse sacks made from waste, compostable bin liners and sustainable hand soap. The business catalogue also features specific references such as kraft cocktail napkins and two-ply sugarcane napkins, kraft dispenser napkins, V-fold sugarcane hand towels, sugarcane toilet paper in 72-roll bulk packs and compostable bin liners.

Environmental and product arguments

The company maintains that bamboo absorbs four times more CO₂ per hectare per year than tree-based paper, grows up to ninety times faster and requires no pesticides. Regarding sugarcane, it claims a water footprint up to 50% lower, the use of fibre from agricultural waste and no deforestation. Tiboo describes its materials as responsibly sourced, its products as plastic-free and of 100% biodegradable design, and states that its bamboo is "panda-safe", meaning it does not compromise the panda's food source.

Tree planting and stated commitment

The company links every order to the planting of a fruit tree in collaboration with Ripple Africa, an initiative that, according to its account, provides food, income and long-term support for families in Malawi. The website puts the cumulative impact at more than 1.75 million trees planted and more than 68 million square metres of rainforest protected.

Shipping, subscription and customer service

The site indicates free UK delivery on orders over £25 and offers a 10% discount on the first order to those who subscribe. It has a subscription and savings programme, as well as a blog with articles on sustainable cleaning, reducing household waste and buying eco-friendly toilet paper in bulk. The company operates as Tiboo UK Ltd from an address in Launceston, Cornwall, and handles enquiries by phone and email.
