Orwell Removals And Storage

Orwell Removals And Storage, removals and storage in Ipswich

Orwell Removals And Storage is a family-run removals and storage company based at Old Station Works, Main Road, Westerfield (Ipswich, Suffolk). It presents itself as a business providing local, national and international removal services, with experience in moving furniture, appliances and personal items for both households and businesses.

The firm describes itself as a family-managed company and states that it has been moving goods since 2005, as well as claiming almost a century of involvement in the industry. Its clients include homes and businesses, and it says it has completed numerous moves with thousands of satisfied customers, some of whom have returned several times.

Removal services for homes and businesses

The service catalogue is organised into four main areas:

• Home removals: an insured service that includes planning and managing the home move, with the aim of reducing the burden on moving day.
• Office removals: moves for businesses that need to minimise downtime, with experience in commercial, corporate, private and public sector relocations.
• Commercial removals: movement of heavy goods with suitable tools and protection.
• Piano removals: a dedicated service for moving pianos, with staff trained for this purpose.

In addition, the company offers a 'man with a van' service for long-distance moves and smaller-volume relocations, and can transport belongings to any part of the country.

Storage and a complete solution

Orwell Removals And Storage also offers storage solutions. The company states that it has storage units and can arrange a combined removals and self-storage service tailored to the customer's needs. Among the uses it mentions are business storage to free up office space and the storage of office furniture that is being removed.

Packing and protection of belongings

The company offers a packing service carried out by experienced staff. As part of this service it uses wardrobe boxes with an internal rail, designed for hanging garments that should not be folded; according to the company, each box holds approximately 15 to 20 hanging garments. The firm stresses that its operatives are trained in handling techniques to treat items with care.

Fleet, insurance and booking process

The company states that its removal vehicles are Euro 6 category and that they are maintained and regulated in accordance with transportation standards. It also declares that it has insurance for its operatives and for the customer's property, and recommends considering additional insurance for high-value items such as art, antiques or jewellery, depending on the distance and complexity of the move.

The process it describes begins with requesting a survey at the property, followed by receiving the quote, accepting the quotation, packing the goods and, finally, moving day. The company offers no-obligation quotes.

Team and coverage

Among the staff identified on the site is Craig, a removals specialist with more than 17 years of experience in the industry. The company handles removals in Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe and the whole of Suffolk, and extends its activity to national and international moves. On its website it publishes moving advice content, such as moving day checklists, self-storage guides and tips for moving with pets.
