Cover for all types of bicycles

The insurer offers policies tailored to different cycling disciplines. The catalogue includes cover for road bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes, cargo bikes, commuter bikes and electric bikes. In the case of e-bikes, cover extends to models with pedal-assist motors up to 250 watts maximum power and a top speed of 15.5 miles per hour, provided the bicycle was originally manufactured as electric and is not a later conversion. Bicycles with internal combustion engines or other sources of propulsion are not covered.

Comprehensive protection against theft and damage

The standard policy covers theft of the bicycle both at home and away from home, as well as accidental damage, whether from a high-speed crash or a minor tumble. Protection is also included during transportation of the bicycle on a roof bike rack, a scenario in which the insurer covers damage if the driver forgets the bike is mounted when entering a garage. In the event of theft, the company replaces the bicycle with a new one (lifetime new for old), for which it asks you to keep the proof of purchase. Malicious damage caused by vandals or attempted theft is also covered, with repair to its previous condition.

Assistance and additional services

Cover includes reimbursement of up to £250 for reasonable transportation costs for the cyclist and their bicycle if the bicycle suffers a breakdown that cannot be repaired at the scene. Up to £500 is also reimbursed for hiring a replacement bicycle or using public transport while awaiting repair or replacement following an approved claim. For those travelling with their bicycle within the UK, the policy covers loss or damage during transport by plane, ship, train or truck.

Extendable cover options

Policyholders can add optional cover according to their needs. The optional worldwide cover extends protection for up to 365 days abroad, with a limit of 90 consecutive days per journey. Racing cover covers damage caused by incidents, impacts or road hazards during a race or event. Additional wheels, accessories and cycling equipment can also be insured up to a value of £5,000, including custom components such as carbon handlebars or dropper seatposts, as well as GPS, lights and cycling clothing. The optional legal cover provides up to £250,000 for professional expenses, including personal injury claims, defence in cycling offences, contractual disputes and telephone legal advice.

Cyclist liability insurance

The company sells cyclist liability insurance for £2 per month. This policy includes public liability cover up to £2,000,000, personal accident cover up to £25,000 in the event of death or permanent injury, and private medical expenses up to £2,500. Cover extends to the policyholder's immediate family — children, stepchildren, parents, stepparents, spouse, siblings, life partner or civil partner, including adoptive relationships — provided they are over 14 years old and permanently reside at the same address.
