RJ Locksmith Services, independent mobile locksmith in Horsham

RJ Locksmith Services is a fully mobile locksmith business, owned and operated by Romans, based in Horsham. It serves homeowners and businesses across West Sussex, Surrey and Kent, with a particular focus on non-destructive entry, mechanism repair and security upgrades. The company presents itself as a local, independent alternative to large national franchises, with no intermediary call centres and no hidden commissions: the customer deals directly with Romans.

The service is built around a van equipped as a workshop, which allows most repairs to be completed on the first visit. The company states that it has more than ten years of experience, a background in engineering and over 1,500 satisfied customers, with a 5.0-star rating based on more than 150 reviews. It offers a fixed price quoted upfront, with no call-out fee, and a twelve-month guarantee on parts and labour.

Locksmith and security services

The range focuses on the repair and replacement of door and window components, as well as the installation of high-security locks. Typical jobs include:

• uPVC door repair: adjustment of misaligned doors and replacement of failed multipoint locking systems or gearboxes.
• uPVC window repair: repair of faulty handles, hinges and locks to restore smooth, secure operation.
• Lock change: installation of anti-snap cylinders and high-security locks to protect against modern burglary methods.
• Emergency lockouts: fast-response service for people locked out of their home or facing a broken lock, with non-destructive entry and immediate on-site repairs.

The company publishes indicative starting prices for some of these services: £89 plus VAT for uPVC door repair, £79 plus VAT for uPVC window repair and £69 plus VAT for a lock change. These are starting amounts that may vary depending on the job.

Coverage and response times

Based in Horsham, the service is fully mobile and covers a wide radius. The company cites locations such as Horsham, Crawley, Horley, Redhill, Leatherhead, Sutton, Croydon, Caterham, Oxted, Uckfield, Brighton, Worthing, Littlehampton, Lewes, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and Crowborough, and notes that coverage may extend beyond these towns. The usual response time indicated is 20 to 45 minutes to the customer's door.

How it works and quotes

The process for obtaining a fixed quote is set out in three steps: the customer takes a photo of the lock, handle or problem; sends it via WhatsApp along with their postcode; and receives a fixed, no-obligation price. The company stresses that it does not charge a call-out fee and that the quote is given upfront. Romans personally handles every call and offers advice based on each property's security needs.

Professional standards and guarantees

The company states that it is fully insured, DBS checked and Checkatrade approved. It works with non-destructive entry and quality hardware that meets British Standards, including the BS3621 requirements often demanded by home insurers. It installs components from leading manufacturers with anti-snap technology. All work carries a twelve-month guarantee on parts and labour, and the company highlights a clean and careful approach during the visit.

Locksmith profile

Romans is the founder and sole operator of RJ Locksmith Services. He presents himself as a local specialist with experience in the technical details of modern locking systems, including the specific hardware of uPVC and composite doors. His approach prioritises repair over costly replacement. The company states that its reputation is built on more than 150 five-star reviews and over a decade in the trade.
