About GB Liners
GB Liners, a British company for national and international moves
GB Liners is a moving and storage company based in the United Kingdom that provides local, national, European and worldwide services. The company presents itself as one of the most established in the sector in the country and has over one hundred years of experience. Its activity covers both residential moves within the UK and relocations to and from Europe and to any destination in the world.
Moving services
The company organises three main types of move:
- UK removals: moves of any size within the country.
- European removals: various options by road.
- International moving: options by air and sea for destinations outside Europe.
It also offers complementary services such as Transfer of Residence (ToR) management, country-specific information and Employee Relocation.
Storage
GB Liners has secure storage facilities, both for short stays between two homes and for longer periods, for example during time abroad. The offer includes containerised storage and self storage.
Five-step moving process
The company describes its working method in five stages: requesting a quote, setting the moving date, packing and preparing beforehand, moving day with its own teams and, finally, collecting the empty boxes once the client is settled in.
Structure and presence
GB Liners operates from eleven branches in the UK, from Aberdeen in the north to Brighton in the south, all connected through its own IT system. The company describes itself as a family business that has passed through three generations. Its origins date back to 1923; in 1946 a small moving and storage business in Hereford was acquired, which gave rise to the company Trevor Williams (Removers) Ltd. During the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s other companies and locations were acquired until the current national network was formed.
Team and training
All team members at the British branches are direct employees of the company, receive training at its in-house centre and have the option to become shareholders. The company reports more than 7,000 moves a year, a fleet of more than 70 vehicles and more than 190 workers.
Accreditations and standards
GB Liners is a member of the British Association of Removers (BAR) and adheres to its code of practice, approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. It is also part of the Overseas Group, which allows it to offer worldwide cover for advanced payments. Its credentials include ISO 9001 and BS EN 12522 certifications, the TSI Cyber Essentials scheme, BAR Overseas Remover status, FIDI accreditation as an International Mover, membership of the FIDI Harmony Relocation Network and the OMNI Movers Trading Club.
