Vale Resort
Hensol resort with 143 rooms and suites, two golf courses, a spa, a health club, and Hensol Castle experiences.
About Vale Resort
Vale Resort occupies a private 650-acre estate in Hensol, in the rural landscape of the Vale of Glamorgan. The hotel is part of a complex where accommodations, sports, dining, and wellness support visits for different reasons. Golf courses, a castle, and a distillery give the property an identity extending beyond an overnight hotel.
Accommodations comprise 143 rooms and suites, including Standard, Executive, family, and accessible options. Junior Suites have a separate living area and terrace; Executive rooms are distinguished by whether they have a balcony. Facilities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a desk with a reading light, satellite television, a safe, and tea- and coffee-making equipment. Categories allow choices about space and layout rather than simply a room label.
The Lake Course and The Wales National Course provide the golf offering. Bookings cover golf days, overnight breaks, groups, and societies, alongside coaching and memberships. The health club adds tennis and squash courts, a gym, and a twenty-meter swimming pool. Sports are divided between the outdoor courses and hotel facilities, with access options and packages depending on the activity.
The spa has five relaxation zones and offers treatments, spa days, and overnight stays. Vale Grill uses Welsh and British ingredients, while Vale Bar, Sunday lunch, and afternoon tea provide other settings for a meal or drink. Room service extends the dining offering for guests. The complex allows a particular activity to be combined with accommodations and dining within the estate.
Hensol Castle is part of the property and is used for weddings and business events. Its distillery occupies the castle cellars and offers tours, tastings, and gin-making experiences. November 2026 programming includes Conspiracy at the Castle, an immersive strategy and deduction activity. Meetings, private celebrations, and sports-team gatherings also have dedicated spaces and booking channels.
Road access starts at Junction 34 of the M4, followed by signs for Pendoylan, Hensol, and Vale Resort. The hotel recommends entering CF72 8JX into navigation systems for access, although its postal address uses CF72 8JY. Pontyclun is the nearby smaller railway station, with Cardiff Central another reference. More than four hundred free parking spaces make it convenient to use the estate as a base for exploring South Wales.
