About Speedi Driving School
Speedi Driving School in North West London
Speedi Driving School is a driving school based in Harrow that provides driving lessons in four areas of North West London: Harrow, Wembley, NW9 and NW10. The company was established in 1999 under the original name 'A Test Driving School' and operates with DVSA-approved instructors (Approved Driving Instructor), all registered on the official DVSA register and DBS checked.
The school has both male and female instructors across all four areas, and allows students to request a preference for instructor type when booking. Instructors live and work in the area they cover, which according to the company allows them to know the local test routes.
Manual, automatic and intensive lessons
The training offer is structured around several options:
- Manual driving lessons, at £35 per hour.
- Automatic driving lessons, at £39 per hour, aimed at nervous drivers or those who prefer to focus on driving without managing gear changes.
- Intensive courses, priced according to the student's starting level and confirmed by phone.
- Pass Plus.
- Car hire for the DVSA practical test, at £165, which includes a warm-up lesson on the morning of the test and the use of a dual-control vehicle with full insurance.
The prices indicated apply across all four coverage areas.
Coverage areas and test centres
Activity is spread across four areas, each with its neighbourhoods and reference test centres:
- Harrow (HA1, HA2, HA3 and HA5 postcodes): Harrow-on-the-Hill, Rayners Lane, Stanmore, Pinner, Kenton, North Harrow and Wealdstone; test centre at Belmont Road, Harrow.
- Wembley (HA9 and HA0): Wembley Central, Wembley Park, Alperton, Sudbury Hill, Sudbury Town and Tokyngton; test centre at Chesterfield Road, Wembley.
- NW9: Kingsbury, Colindale, Queensbury, Burnt Oak, The Hyde and Fryent; test centre at Brent Park, Staples Corner.
- NW10: Willesden, Harlesden, Kensal Green, Neasden, Park Royal and Stonebridge; test centres at Wembley and Cricklewood.
How it works and registration process
The school is open seven days a week, with availability also in early morning and evening slots. The sign-up process begins with a phone call or a callback request; then the student is assigned an instructor in their area according to their transmission and instructor preferences, and the first lesson is scheduled. The instructor picks up the student from their home or a location of their choice. In the first session, the starting level is assessed and a personalised plan is drawn up, with progress monitored up to the DVSA practical test.
Reviews and experience
The company states over 25 years in business and a 4.9-star rating on Google for its Harrow location. The testimonials on the site are from students in Harrow, Wembley and Kingsbury who passed the test first time or within a few months, and highlight the instructor's patience and knowledge of local routes. The school itself notes that these opinions are representative of its students' experience.
