About iWarehouse Ltd
iWarehouse Ltd: family-run optician in Great Yarmouth
iWarehouse Ltd is a family business located in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (United Kingdom), dedicated to selling designer-brand prescription glasses at factory prices. The company presents itself as an alternative to large optical chains, with a focus on low prices and no misleading promotions. Its team consists of qualified dispensing opticians, which allows them to measure, assemble and adjust glasses with professional precision, although they do not perform eye tests.
Services and products
The optician offers a wide range of frames and lenses. Featured services include:
- Designer and lesser-known brand frames, with over 1000 models on display.
- Single-vision, bifocal, varifocal, thinner material, photochromic, Transitions and XtrActive lenses.
- Impact-resistant lenses, with anti-scratch, anti-glare, polarised, tinted and mirrored coatings.
- Certified safety glasses and sports glasses for shooting, cycling, rugby, swimming, diving, skiing and other activities.
- Repair of broken frames and adjustment of old glasses.
- Acceptance of NHS vouchers.
- Collection of used glasses for the Lions collection, destined for developing countries.
The company also sells accessories and has a section of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Team and experience
The team is made up of five members of the same family, with experience in independent opticians, large chains, frame distributors and glazing laboratories. Leigh Coleman, managing director and co-owner, began as a laboratory technician at Specsavers and later founded a glazing laboratory and a frame distribution company before creating iWarehouse. Jeanette George has been a qualified dispensing optician with honours since 1998, registered with the GOC and with continuing education through ABDO; she has worked with Rodenstock, Zeiss and Essilor lenses. Sally-Anne Reeder, optical advisor, began at Vision Express in 1999 and has worked for several chains. Joe George, optical advisor and laboratory technician, is responsible for assembling glasses and minor repairs. Dileta Endriukaityte is an administrative assistant. Nick Wilson, co-owner and laboratory technician, is retired and was a specialist in rimless glazing.
Business approach
The company defines itself as a family business that offers the same as other opticians, except for eye tests, at greatly reduced prices. Its stated goal is to provide high-quality products and services at the lowest possible price, without resorting to the usual offers and sales. They serve both those who need simple glasses for driving and those looking for high-end frames with top-quality lenses.
Social commitment
iWarehouse collaborates with the Lions collection by collecting used glasses to help third-world countries. In addition, at its reception counter, eggs are sold whose profits go to the charity Desperate Dogs Romania.
