About Trackmatic

Trackmatic: GPS vehicle and fleet tracking for UK businesses

Trackmatic is a UK provider specialising in GPS vehicle tracking and fleet management for UK businesses. Its approach focuses on giving small and growing fleets useful information without unnecessary complexity, allowing vans, cars, HGVs and mixed commercial fleets to be monitored from desktop or mobile.

The company combines vehicle tracking experience with its own connectivity capability, which allows it to offer multi-network options and support UK and European tracking requirements where appropriate. According to its presentation, it has more than a decade of experience in the sector.

Tracking and monitoring features

The platform allows you to view vehicle locations in real time, replay journeys, inspect routes, stops and travel times, as well as verify visits and respond to customer queries. It also offers monitoring of driving activity, with indicators for speeding, harsh events, idling and other behaviours that can affect safety, fuel consumption and vehicle wear.

The system supports configurable alerts and geofences, scheduled reports around movements, locations, operating hours and other relevant fleet events. Managers can review detailed history of journeys, routes, stops and mileage to understand what happened before and after an important activity.

Vehicle intelligence and security

In addition to live tracking, Trackmatic incorporates intelligent event detection to help identify unexpected movements and review the journey around an incident. Described capabilities include detection of possible collisions, detection of interference or attempts to jam GPS/GSM signals, and detection of towing or unauthorised movement when the vehicle should be stopped or with the ignition off.

It also includes monitoring of ignition, movement, stops, idling, speeding and harsh driving events, as well as configurable notifications via geofences, location alerts, driver and vehicle activity, device status checks and connectivity monitoring.

Trackmatic Driver app

Trackmatic Driver is a driver app that brings together three tools: shift tracking via phone, driver identification and recording of the daily vehicle check. The driver starts and ends the shift from the phone, which records the journey; each shift is linked to a specific driver and vehicle, which in many fleets avoids installing RFID readers or handing out fobs.

Vehicle checks allow mileage, tyres, lights, fluids, damage and photos to be recorded from the phone. Detected defects arrive in the Trackmatic portal for review, replacing paper check sheets. The company stated that the app is available with six months free on eligible plans and compatible phones, and that it confirms the details included when handling enquiries.

Installation and types of vehicles and assets

Trackmatic offers two installation methods: self-install trackers, designed to connect vehicles without the need to arrange an appointment with a technician, and professionally installed hardwired devices for those who prefer a more concealed installation. Self-installation is presented as a practical option for expanding or changing fleets, with access to the same tracking platform and hardware selected for the application.

Vehicle and asset coverage includes vans, cars and service fleets for trades, engineers and field teams; HGV and road transport fleets; plant, trailers, containers and other mobile assets, with hardware adapted to powered and non-powered applications. Specialised deployments requiring specific hardware, connectivity or operating environments are also considered.

Pricing, support and partner programme

Pricing is available on request and is tailored to each fleet, depending on the equipment, installation option and operational requirements. The company states that sales and technical support is UK-focused and that it offers multi-network connectivity options when needed.

Trackmatic also works with installers, referrers and resellers interested in flexible fleet telematics and connectivity solutions for their customers, through its partner programme.

Customer reviews

The website includes testimonials from businesses using Trackmatic in their daily operations. Brendan Gleeson, of Amaro Ltd, states that they reduced their fuel bill by more than 16% in three months. Janet Rosel, of Lilliput Trading Company, highlights that the system is easy to use and helps locate vehicles at all times. Susann Weir, of CSS Electronics Ltd, notes a significant increase in employee productivity.
