Lamp Genius

Lamp Genius, lighting for the home and garden from Glasgow

Lamp Genius is a UK-based online store specialising in the sale of lamps, lights and lighting accessories for both private and commercial customers. The company was founded in 2022 by Alina, an architect, and Charles, with more than ten years of experience in the UK lighting industry. Its stated aim is to refresh a market they considered outdated and lacking in inspiration by incorporating modern European designs.

The website functions as a catalogue and sales channel, with free delivery to mainland UK for orders over £99. The company states that its UK-based team handles enquiries by phone or email.

Indoor lighting catalogue

The indoor range is organised into several main categories: ceiling lights, pendant lighting, chandeliers, ceiling spotlights, wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps. Ceiling lights also include pendant lights and directional spotlights. The store also sells matching lighting sets, with options that combine wall and ceiling lights, ceiling and table lamps, floor and table lamps, or floor and ceiling lights.

The catalogue can be filtered by rooms and areas of the home: bathroom, bedroom, children's room, teenage room, conservatory, dining room, gaming room, hallway, home office, kitchen, living room, staircase and utility room. They are also grouped by specific uses such as dining table, kitchen island or breakfast bar, porch and summerhouse.

Styles and collections

The selection is classified by decorative styles, including antique, art deco, country cottage, crystal, coffee shop, designer, hotel, industrial, luxury, minimal, modern and contemporary, nautical, retro, traditional, vintage, Victorian, statement, unusual and mid-century. This organisation makes it possible to search for pieces that match a specific aesthetic, from classic settings to more contemporary designs.

Outdoor lighting and LED technology

The outdoor section includes outdoor wall lights, pendants and ceiling lights, with a specific section for wall lamps. The company also sells indoor LED lighting, such as LED pendant lights, and a range of LED bulbs with E27, E14 and G9 bases. The site offers informative resources such as a lumens calculator, an LED energy savings calculator and a colour temperature guide.

Lamp Genius has a programme for trade customers covering interior designers, home builders, architects, hotels, restaurants, bars and pubs, and coffee shops and cafés. This service includes trade-specific pricing, project storage and the option to book delivery dates.
