Railwayscenics

Railwayscenics began in mid-2008 as a small shop selling downloadable files its operators needed for their own models. That origin remains visible in a catalog supporting railway scenery and electrical operation. The family business in Gillingham, Dorset, combines scenic materials, tools, and components for model railroad enthusiasts and other modeling projects.

Printable files retain part of that early activity. Brick, stone, wood, roof, road, and paving textures help finish buildings and surfaces. Signs and wagon tarpaulins add detail; cardboard kits, including Superquick models, support the construction of stations and buildings alongside the tracks.

Scenery includes backdrops for N and OO scales, ballast, cork, static grass, trees, shrubs, and small plant details. Walls, hedges, and plants help organize the setting around a track layout. Each section distinguishes parts and scales, allowing the landscape to develop in layers from the base to the smallest detail.

Electrical supplies include wiring for DC and DCC systems, connectors, switch motor kits, and installation accessories. Switches, power supplies, fuses, and testing equipment extend that range. Lighting includes LEDs, flexible strips, fiber optics, and building and passenger car lights, with resistors and mounts for installation.

Baseboards and mechanisms have alignment parts, brackets, catches, wheels, and hardware. Gears, motors, bearings, and turntable motorization kits support moving parts. Materials include balsa wood, plastic sheets, metals, wires, adhesives, and fillers, alongside paints and finishing products.

Tools cover knives, hand drills, small drill bits, tweezers, pliers, saws, and soldering equipment. Cleaning and lubrication supplies support model maintenance. Help pages explain topics such as DCC wiring, LEDs, scales, and track gauges, complementing purchases with information about component use.

The business is at 14 Woodsage Drive, Gillingham, Dorset, SP8 4UF, but its premises are not open to the public: orders are placed online. The store displays stock by item and offers domestic and international shipping options. Railwayscenics thus brings together two tasks within a model railroad: building a convincing scene and making its lights, tracks, and movements work.
