About TeamSport Go Karting
TeamSport Go Karting, multi-level indoor karting in the UK
TeamSport Go Karting is a British indoor karting company that presents itself as the largest indoor karting company in the UK. Its activity is based around multi-level circuits equipped with state-of-the-art karts, designed to offer a safe and competitive experience for both novice and experienced drivers.
The company operates more than 37 indoor karting tracks in the UK and 5 in Europe. In an average year it receives more than 1.3 million visitors and has more than 1,000 employees. Of the total number of circuits, 20 are electric and 20 are petrol, with 16 electric tracks in the UK. All venues offer food and drink options, and some include additional leisure experiences.
History and evolution of the company
TeamSport began in 1992 in Guildford, Surrey, with the opening of its first track. At that time the circuit was flat and single-level, smaller than today's. Over the years, the company transformed its facilities into multi-level tracks, incorporated high-end karts and improved customer service areas, elements that the company highlights as differentiators of its offering. Its growth plans include continuing to open venues in the UK and Europe.
Karting experiences and race formats
The karting offering is open to drivers aged 8 and over. Available formats include:
- Ultimate Race Experience: two sessions on the main track, with a pit lane start and victory for the fastest lap.
- Grand Prix: competition format with two sessions on the main track, a qualifying heat and a race with a grid start, followed by a podium trophy presentation.
The company also organises local championships such as the GRID Series and the BIKC (British Indoor Karting Championship), which it presents as the largest indoor karting championship in the world.
Off-track activities
At selected venues, TeamSport complements karting with other activities: combat karts, mini racers, bowling, laser combat, mini golf, sim racing, Sixes Cricket and combat karting, among others. These options allow visits to extend beyond the race and are designed for groups, celebrations or full days.
Events, celebrations and audience
The facilities are aimed at children's birthdays, corporate events, stag and hen dos, large groups and family outings. The company sells specific packages for Christmas parties, corporate events and children's celebrations, and offers discounts for students, NHS staff and the armed forces.
Membership, academies and training
TeamSport's membership programme includes exclusive benefits, regular competition opportunities and access to championships. The Race Academy is aimed at drivers aged 8 to 15 and offers structured training from beginner to advanced level. The Girls Karting Academy (GKA) has exclusive Club Nights and an annual Race Academy membership. Karting lessons are also available for children aged 8 to 15.
Recognition and corporate commitment
The company was recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK in 2024 by Great Place to Work, ranking 40th in the large company category, marking the fourth consecutive year it has received this distinction. TeamSport declares itself carbon neutral and maintains public policies on equality and diversity, charitable action, a modern slavery statement and child protection.
